Throwing a few million dollars into softball will not help if the wrong coach is in place. (Just like it didn't help in Basketball)
That would be like flushing money down the toilet!
Throw the money into hiring a NEW COACH.
All the MA's want to keep Queen Softball Nikki in place until her contract runs out then make a change.
I'm not a MA and don't agree with that stance.
Softball hasn't made it to the WCWS since 2017 (Unacceptable) and scored just ONE RUN in two SR games against Alabama.
Pull the plug now and get it over with. (Of course, just making it to a SR is perfectly fine and acceptable for many, but my standards for LSU Athletics are higher than that)

It would be nice to see Softball flourish like Gymnastics, Women's Basketball, and Beach Volleyball keeping LSU at the top.
Having a 3rd women's sport sell out crowd like b-ball and gymnastics would be great.

you are correct. 4 years. yeah we beat FSU and jessica burroughs in supers before our last WCWS trip then lost to meghan king the next year in supers. crazy. they lost their first game in WCWS then won the rest and won it all.

Compete like we do in baseball? Maybe that’s not a good idea. It’s not easy; one of the best softball teams with the best coach in the game was eliminated and will not make trip to Softball World Series.

NIL started as booster money, if the boosters want to throw money at a sport, then let them.
As of July 1, 2025, following the House v. NCAA settlement, schools can now directly share revenue with athletes. This is a new layer of compensation separate from traditional third-party NIL deals, funded by athletic department revenue streams such as ticket sales and media rights
If a sport has a revenue stream, then let them keep it. Football is profitable as is Men's basketball.
Baseball is basically self-sufficient and after that they all lose money.
