'07 was ranked 17th but injuries played a big part of that, plus they averaged almost 3 created turnovers a game

Glenn Dorsey injured by typical cheap shot Auburn team had a big effect on this defense.

If you remember 07, we lost a starting DT vs Virginia tech, We lost a starting DE for most of the season, and Dorsey was injured for a few games.
We still prevailed. Dominated Ohio St.

If I remember right, Ole Bo was basically tarred and feathered, prior to be run out town. Please, not this LOSER.

I don't know how that boosts Bo's resume (and your argument for?) against today's game.

It doesn't necessarily boost his resume, it's the point that every DC was struggling with those concepts at the time. Then they adjust. You can't pin two games from Pelini on his career.

He took the Nebraska HC position, was allowed to coach the BCSCG, and helped LSU win the title.

Oh. So now we’re denigrating the 07 championship to prove your point? Good job, moron.

BabyTac is right you know... two overtime losses.

Not reading yet another one of your ridiculous takes. You were so right about Coach O, Burrow and Brady so you decided to post another "hot take"? I'd rather listen to my 6 year old.

Completely wrong. Our fan base was quite upset he was leaving and thought we were doomed.

And if I am remembering correctly he got the gatorade bath after the game, not Les.

Pelini was not run out of town, that's ridiculous.

It’s the millennials who have a problem with Pelini. Those of us who remember 05-07 remember aggressive attacking defenses lead by a dominant DL. Dorsey, Jackson, Favorite, Jean-Francois. Those were good days.

Arkansas had a bad arse offensive line and 3 nfl 1,000 yard rushers and came in with a one of a kind game plan to unleash all 3

It's almost as if overtime makes defenses look bad.

This seems to be the biggest excuse why people want Pelini back. “He was part of the 07 run!!!!”

A rare, lucky 2 loss national championship where the two losses came from innovative offenses steam rolling our defense.

Please, Coach O, stay with the concept of young, innovative coordinators and not these retread, has beens.

Absolute truth.

Cherry picking Youngstown State.
2016: 12-4 made it to FBS National Championship game.

Nebraska sucked before Pelini.

With Pelini won Big-12, 9, 10, 10. Big-12 known for innovative offensives. Big-10, 9, 10, 9, 9. Big-10 home of innovative offensives during his tenure 2011-14.

Nebraska has sucked after Pelini. Wins per year, 6, 9, 4, 4, 5.

I’m fine with Pelini back as LSU DC. Damn fine DC at LSU. Did a good job at Nebraska but was too firey for the pearl clutchers there. Good recruiter. Doing a job so good at Youngstown that they renewed his contract. At 52 years old he is less likely to chase rainbows like the young and ambitious Brady or 43 year old Aranda. Unlike Aranda he’s already HC a major P5 school.

Potential longevity, proven recruiter, plus proven ability equals a win.

Buuut... I won’t die if he and O don’t come to terms. LSU talent base even made the Chief look good. We still coming!

We had Arkansas beat in regulation, but a DE roughed the quarterback after the play was over. That gave them a first down and an opportunity to keep playing.
