This seems to be the biggest excuse why people want Pelini back. “He was part of the 07 run!!!!”

A rare, lucky 2 loss national championship where the two losses came from innovative offenses steam rolling our defense.

Please, Coach O, stay with the concept of young, innovative coordinators and not these retread, has beens.

'05 was a top 5 defense
'06 was a top 5 defense
'07 was ranked 17th but injuries played a big part of that, plus they averaged almost 3 created turnovers a game

'07 isn't the only sample size

LSU should have never been in the title game that year.

I hate the fact that some of you idiots think DCs aren't adjustable. Those offenses were innovative AT THE TIME. They're not innovative anymore. In fact, they are literally the most common base offense you'll see in college football. The argument that Pelini "can't adjust to innovative offense" is fricking retarded.

Edit: Find another point to argue. I personally don't think Pelini is the best choice, but it has nothing to do with scheme or his ability to coach against modern day offenses.

A coach doesn’t have to be young to be a good coach! I hate that people keep saying we need a young coach.

That being said, I’m not sure Pelini would be a good hire

Glad you brought that up. Those two losses were games Les Miles and the LSU Tigers were supposed to win.

2007 was easily the most talented team in the country and totally deserved the title. played to the level of their competition at times and had some injury issues.

bite your filthy tongue.

I'll give you the benefit of the doubt that you didn't watch the 2007 campaign. LSU was very clearly the best team in CFB. The two losses both came to good teams in triple overtime. We lost the first one to #17 Kentucky at their place. The next week we beat Auburn, but lost our best defensive lineman on and off for the rest of the regular season due to an illegal chop block.

We were playing Arkansas at the end of the year with a very weakened defensive line. Once we had a few weeks to rest that dline we steamrolled Ohio State.

LSU was 3-0 against top 10 teams (including #1), and they were 7-1 against top 20 teams.

More Babytac "Hot Takes" from the past:

"Let's call Ed O what he is - a great position coach/recruiter, promoted at Ole Miss who doesn't know what he is doing as a head coach."

"Let's call Joe Burrow what he is - a third string QB at tOSU."

"Let's call Joe Brady what he is - an intern, basically a coffee-fetcher working for the Saints."

Funny how people make every injury excuse in the book for Aranda the first 10 games of this season and previous seasons. The same people want to ignore Pelini’s 07 injuries.

holy frick can you even read? his great stats have been posted here over and over last few days. so his PPG and YPG is no reason why he would be a good candidate?

you should not even be allowed to post such idiocy. chicken needs a MFing litmus test badly for morons like yourself.
