Coach E, before taking the OC role, was already talking about spending more time with his grandkids.

I think he either bows out gracefully or stays on as a consultant or analyst... something that still keeps him doing what he loves but also allows him to spend more time with family.

He wanted to retire 3 years ago but O begged him to help him out so he did. He’ll have no problem retiring or stepping aside but if O asks him to stay on in any way I’m sure he will. He’s a true Tiger and will do whatever he asked to help the program the way he always has.

Obviously every LSU fan wants Joe Brady to be OC next year

I’m honestly indifferent to this, so long as he stays. Brady has been incredible. But, in the end, I trust Coach O and Coach E to figure out when and how to make a switch at OC. I don’t see Coach E clinging to a job he had to be begged to take in the first place, I don’t see Coach O clinging to his security blanket that is Coach E if he’s got a capable, trusted replacement in the wings, and I don’t see anyone risking losing Brady.

That isn’t a tough question to answer that is as long as you know what Brady wants. If you don’t know then you can’t answer the question until you do. Obviously at this point no one wants Brady to leave but you can damn well bet there will be some offers that will come his way. So this is going to depend solely on that, what does Brady want.

Ensminger is a team guy 24/7 he is going to do what is best for LSU everyone understands the value of Brady especially Ensminger.

You should assume a young assistant that will be a hot commodity in the CFB world is going to want the job for himself.

You take a good look at who's going to be running the offense next year at QB. If I were Brady I would take the very best offer I can take this offseason because the next offense probably won't be as magical as this one.

Coach E will do whatever is best for LSU and he will still be an employee of LSU for as long as he wants.

I think you should enjoy the season and worry about that shite at the end of the season.

More than likely, this. He may step back to TE coach or a consultant role, but my guess is, things are in good hands and it’s a prime time to cash it in.

You guys are making a HUGE assumption Brady wants to even remain coaching in college.

First of all, he came from the NFL so he is well aware coaching there is a much better job. Better money and no recruiting. With an early signing period recruiting has become even more of a grind for the coaches. Very few coaches, given the chance, pick college coaching over the NFL because they all hate recruiting,

Second of all, say for arguments sake the Dolphins pick Burrow. You dont think the first call their general manager makes is to Brady to make him an offer to be the OC for their brand new 1st round draft pick? If Brady believes Burrow has the potential of say a Drew Brees there is no way he turns that job down. Any team who picks Burrow would be stupid to not make that offer and Brady would be stupid to turn them down.

Think about it. If you are a 28 or 29 year old qb coach who has ambition are you hitching your wagon to a player who you believe you can coach up to be the next Drew Brees or are you staying in college to coach Myles Brennan?

Brady wont be here next year.

It's mind boggling this fan base still is dissing on CSE. If there was ever a lifelong loyal and dedicated person to LSU it would be him. Don't underestimate his significance.

Absolutely, team player and obviously much less of an ego than most coaches. How many OC's would let some young punk come in and change the foundation of they offense that you were in charge of.

I've see several coaching dramas drag LSU's program down over the years, and this might have done it at many places but Ensminger made it work, much credit to him.

I don't think he really, really wanted to be OC to begin with but did it out of loyalty. I think he would have no issue taking a lesser roll if asked. hell he might even request it.

At some point, Brady will want full control of offense and the pay that comes with it. That may come as soon as January.

And rightly so. Without him, our passing game is still archaic and we prolly have at least one losses...maybe two. I wouldn't think any Tiger fan (to include all the big donors) would have a problem with this.

He’s supposedly a good recruiter. Let him do that and coach tight ends. Whatever he wants other than OC

Just keep things the way they are and pay or promote Brady whatever it takes. Keep the dynamic the same.

Yeah I don’t see Brady getting the keys just yet. He’s learning recruiting and making contacts in the Louisiana coaching community. No reason to rush it if he will be the OC and be paid as such.

I think SE has no problem doing what it takes to keep JB on staff. Whether it be he steps down, takes another role, becomes co OC or whatever. SE loves LSU and probably wouldn't mind riding out on top.

I feel like they work well together in the booth. Let them both stay and name JB co coordinator and pay the man.
