Without knowing more about how how the voters actually feel, it would be hard to draw any kind of conclusion outside of purely guessing, or in some teams position, hoping. It is possible that some of the voters are not willing to drink the kool aid that the ESPN driven media is trying to dish out...

Reach all you want corndog the fact remains if Lsu gets blown out and ou gets blown out its still Bama LSU BCSNC. Bank it. They are the two best teams!!! Clearly! The rematch will happen. Like it or not. LSU has legitimate arguments for not haveing to play this game again but in this case the system works. #1 vs #2 Game of the century episode 2 : A new hope. Roll Tide.

The main factor keeping me from thinking their chances are any better is the one continually dismissed by people who don't really address the factor itself: Stanford.

I think Stanford will move down no matter what happens. In the final poll the coaches are going to have a hard time leaving Stanford ahead of a Pac12 champ Oregon that smoked them.

The key is VTech. If they win Bama is in no doubt. if they lose there is a shot.

Also keep in mind that the coaches this week will actually see the games since most teams are off.

I'm routing for you guys to win Okie State. Kick OUs lOUsy arse. them good for a LSU vs OSU BCS NC

frick the Rematch shite, they lost at home. they do not deserve to be in the NC, not in conference game. What's the fricking point of playing a conference championship if teams are going to get a pass to get into BCS championship? Whoever votes for a rematch is a jackass. OSU has a shot and other teams have a shot if they win this weekend.

Remember OSU and Mich. got rolled in their bowl games no one in the country is even two touchdowns within Alabama or LSU

Isn't that the point?

Michigan and tOSU looked dominant all year and then both lost badly in their bowl games. tOSU even went to Texas and wiped out the defending national champs during the regular season

90% chance I still dont understand why some people are SOOO sure that Bama has already punched their ticket. They are underestimating the voters ability to jump teams on the last poll

yep, just need a game where they feel better about jumping, clemson has to beat va tech...so it doesnt split the votes bt okie state and va tech

1. After this weekend, with a win, OSU will be #2 in all the computer polls which gives them a .960 score.
2. 15 coaches votes need to have OSU #2 and the rest all be #3 votes, which would give them a score of 1372/1475=.930169
3. 29 harris votes need to have OSU #2 and the rest all be #3 votes, which would give them a score of 2674/2875=.93008
4. OSU would have a BCS score of .94008

This is all very reasonable, IMO.

90 percent if Okie State wins in a rout

70 percent if Okie State wins comfortably

50 percent if Okie State wins close

Pretty high.. I say 70-80%

The opinion is souring against a rematch. Given those things the voters can do it and walk away.

Mark May and Lou Holtz will cry foul

Listening to the talking heads Okie State would have to hammer OU to get by Bama. I do not understand the logic in this as Bama's claim to fame is loing to LSU by only 3 in Ot. Bama lost folks, that is all she wrote. Why should OSU have to beat the soomers by more than 3 scores to get past dumb gumps?

I give the OKIe State folks 100% chance if they win by more than 2 tds.

Exactly zero percent chance this rematch doesn't happen!
It would take voter fraud to push anyone above the only true second best team. Right now LSU is top of the heap but Bama is consensus #2 no matter what anyone else does. Just get ready.

Hey Big Bama, I bet you were kid on the playground(the big one with a belly and always had a runny nose), that would cry "Rematch, do-over!", when you got beat at anything..... That had to be you, cause all that Gump bullshite about a rematch sounds just like that kid...

Spoken like a true Bama fan..

YOu will have 10 wins versus 11 against FBS teams...a full game behind OSU if they beat OU.

enjoy that popcorn

there are several factors, IMO, that would cause the voters to vote OSU ahead of Bama(assuming OSU beats OU and Clemson wins)

1. the anti-rematch line of thinking
2. the winning your conference line of thinking
3. the selfishness of wanting to see a "better game
4. the psychology of recency effect

the 4th is interesting to me. Imagine you're a voter and you see OSU beat OU, you see all the confetti, the Big12 championship hats/shirts, all the celebrating. That's going to stick in your mind. Bama is at home getting fat and watching tv and OSU is on prime time tv winning a BIG GAME

I really think that there are going to be a TON of crying Bama fans should OSU beat OU

Also, the remainder of college football fans/voters across the country are pretty much tired of seeing SEC dominance... I dont think if given an option they would choose to see 2 teams from the same conf. playing for the NC, even more so when one had beaten the other earlier in the season..
