Did this change?

Ballots for final coaches' poll won't be released

I thought this changed after the 2006 UF/Michigan issue.

I don't see what is wrong with his post. He is saying that just because voters have Bama #2 now, doesnt mean they won't move them down with an OSU win. Right now, the safe play is Bama at #2. IF OSU beats OU, then they could feel justified.

I actually think he is agreeing with you and alum on this one.
This.

Why put OSU any higher right now? If they lose to OU, they're 10-2. If they beat OU, they jump up. They are taking the wait and see approach.

They were supposed to go private in 2010, but remained open.

Dreamers!!

Exactly zero percent chance this rematch doesn't happen!
It would take voter fraud to push anyone above the only true second best team. Right now LSU is top of the heap but Bama is consensus #2 no matter what anyone else does. Just get ready.

So the odds are 0:infinity?

I'll put up my $zero versus your $100 that Bama doesn't make it.

Shut up, Gump.

It happened in 2006 when everyone at ESPN wanted an Ohio State/Michigan rematch and it'll happen again if OSU puts a whipping on OU on Saturday.

Here is my standing on the coaches. They don't want to be in a similar position down the road where THEIR team could be a one loss conference champion (B10, B12, Pac12, ACC, etc..) and get left out vs a team who didn't win their division or conference.

They do it here and they pretty much guarantee it'll happen again in the future.

Remember OSU and Mich. got rolled in their bowl games no one in the country is even two touchdowns within Alabama or LSU this is the only game that makes sense. Not just my opinion. The people that count( coaches and press) are resolved to this game. I cant wait. LSU will be tougher in the dome and are probably one of the better teams in the last 25 years but that Bama D...!!!! It Will be great...agian.

Exactly. Imagine if Bama vs. LSU were being played this weekend rather than in November. Does anyone here doubt that the outcome just might have an impact on the top 3?

..and this was after the voters dumped them from #2 to #4 in the polls after CG weekend.

Some people will not want to see a rematch.

If Oklahoma St beats Oklahoma convincingly, say enough to compare equally to Alabama/Arkansas and VT loses, I think they have about 1/3 chance of getting the votes.

Otherwise, I just think they're just up against too many factors to make such a huge leap.

The main factor keeping me from thinking their chances are any better is the one continually dismissed by people who don't really address the factor itself: Stanford.

We can all argue until our fingers fall off about "our" opinions of Stanford's resume or say they have no chance at being #2 but it doesn't matter what we think.

I still think it's going to take a huge win by Oklahoma St for a lot of west coast voters-- who feel that Stanford's win over USC is better than any OSU win and their loss doesn't stink nearly as badly-- to bump them down especially when they need those votes for a Top 4 BCS finish.

Those West coast voters will just have to hate Alabama more than OSU. Stanford gets a BCS bid regaurdless.

You just made Oklahoma State's case for them.

If OSU/Mich = LSU/Bama (which in this situation it does)......Then you are basically saying there's definitely a chance that Oklahoma State is the best team and could beat LSU, making Oklahoma State the best team in the country (and hence making everyone's "LSU/Bama are the two best teams in the country" WRONG.
