In 2007 we became the only 2 loss national champion ever because we lost to Kentucky and Arkansas

While I agree that it was time for Les to go around the 2014 time frame, the 2007 team performed well enough to be unbeaten that year.

Their two losses came in Triple OT games where our offense put up 50 points each game.

Remind me, who was the DC that year that couldn't stop a HS jamboree offense when we lost to ARK?

Oh yeah, that was Bo.

CFB has evolved a lot since BP couldn't stop the WildCat.

you're ignoring that in addition to 92% of 2019, Les has ANOTHER natty (and before that, a legit BCS bowl win)

We lost 2 games and were incredibly lucky to get the chance to play for that national title.

Also O has a peach bowl and Feista bowl win

Thank you, come again

The people in this thread melting acting like sfp is some miles apologist are hilarious.

This thread shows that even though orgeron is putting out a Hallman level LSU team, they still can’t give miles credit for his tenure at LSU.

Imagine trying to down play a national championship at your supposed favorite school in order to defend Ed orgeron like this guy

Yeah but no one thought the program was broken. It was just a bad loss. This one yesterday and the way the season has gone shows that there are serious program issues.

LSU got better in 2014.

Florida.. I think it was 2008. I want to say we got our asses handed to us. Florida scored in the 50s. We scored, I think maybe some garbage points.

Okay, I looked it up. 2008, we finished 7-5 in the regular season. Lost to Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Ole Miss and Arkansas. Florida beat us 51-21.

That's the year we played Troy and went into the 4th quarter down 31-10 and ended up winning 40-31. Jarrett Lee was the QB.

That was the year after winning the NC in 2007. I remember going to the season opener vs App St, which ended up having to push kickoff time up due to a hurricane (maybe Gustav?). The game started at like 10:30AM.

None of that is as bad as what we are witnessing. This current LSU team is a disaster.

Correct. There is a common denominator in those 2 losses and the historically bad team you are witnessing this year.

Can you let us know what that is?

We get it. You hate Miles. You love Ed O.

But you are still supposed to be an LSU fan. If so, you should be able to praise and criticize them both equally.

Acting like SFP is some huge Miles fan is hilarious. This is an objective look at different eras of the program. He isn't wrong. I'm someone who also thought Miles should have been gone in 2014.

Les did lose 41-7 to Auburn in 2014. His team definitely played hard for him.

O did something to lose the respect of his team. Only way this makes sense to me. He needs to get this fixed ASAP.

If less miles lost as many players like we did in one season. He would be in the same situation. Probably any coach in college would.

But you’re so right- we should have never fired les miles. We should still be running the power I and 2019 never should have happened. "

Reading comprehension: get some. OP never said we shouldn't have fired Les Miles-you made that part up. You call the OP an idiot?! That's rich.

Les's team is quite amusing. This weekend that finally scored in double digits.

Kansas isn’t LSU. We were discussing his teams here troll.

Is Les not the HC at Kansas? If he gets credit for being a better HC here, why does he not get the blame for the shite show at Kansas? Go to KU boards. A couple of weeks ago they were hoping he would retire. They can not understand how a coach who won an NC can be this bad. They are saying the team is not improving. Our defense is the worst I can remember. But coach O is a far cry from being as bad as Miles. We might even need to fire O in the end but Miles never should have coached at LSU.

Don’t know if anyone else corrected this, but 2014 Auburn finished unranked at 8-5 (4-4).

That Auburn team was #5 in the country. The Auburn team we played yesterday had 2 wins gifted to them and may have been the worst Auburn team in 10 years.

Les Miles' 2014 team also was shutout by 6-6 Arkansas and had like 125 yards of offense.

Miles never had a year this bad

We don't have layup games this year. In 2008, Les went 7-5 in the regular season. He beat North Texas, Tulane, App St (FCS), and Troy OCC, and he did everything he could to try to lose to Troy. He won 3 SEC games - Auburn (5-7), State (4-8), and South Carolina (7-6). He was crushed by Florida, Georgia, and Ole Miss. If we had those 4 OOC teams on the schedule, we're, at worst, 6-6, this season with 2 conference wins thus far. That also happened to be a season following a national title.
