Jarret Lee has more passing yard vs Bama his freshman year than JJ did in 8 quarters of play his senior year.

Les Miles was the only coach in the country who would not have pulled JJ in that game.

Yeah. He actually threw for 1873 yards that year. The yards and the touchdows weren't to bad in my opinion, but those 16 interceptions were terrible.

I give the young man credit for hanging tough and not leaving the program. He showed a lot of class by staying all 4 years.

I think he would be a great AD, say what you want but he is a great people person and was always able to get top notch coaches.

it couldn’t have hurt but wouldn’t have mattered. Jarrett lee shite his pants when he saw that crimson and white.

but we'll never know for sure, will we? Les just stayed with what clearly wasn't working, made no change, and drove that plane straight into the ground.

I asked him why it was always against Florida that we called trick plays so often to which he replied "I KNOW RIGHT? It was like those guys never watched any game film or something they never saw it coming every damn time!"

He'd prolly refer to Jarret's 1/7 TD/INT ratio vs Gumps.
Most rational folks do.

Yeah but stop talking about Troy already when it hasn't even been a full calendar year since the game.

Honestly have no idea why this comment has more downvotes then up votes. It's ahundred percent true statement regarding what Nick Saban did, and we all saw how that turned out.

When we are paying that clown $130,000 a month to be the fool he is why would he take a coaching job, not that anyone wants him?

Cool story, you'll always remember that.

Skip Bertman came to speak at my freshmen dorm, Herget, around this time of September in 2000.

He was fresh off a national championship in Omaha, and obviously discussed that a good bit throughout the session. At the end of it, he took questions, and I asked if he felt like he should stick around to break Southern Cal's Rod Dedeaux's record of 12 natty's.

Most people in the room had never heard of Dedeaux, judging by their responses, and Skip gave a sarcastic look of incredulity like "I just dominated a decade of Omaha, and this stupid fvckstick isn't satisfied."

He finished up his look of scorn and said "No. I don't think I will get to win that many" and went on to the next question. I later came to find out that Skip gave a lot of people that type of look and answer when asked stupid questions.

It was Awsome to hear him talk. Still love him as a guy and dreadful for all he did for LSU but the game passed him.
