Les Miles spoke in my sports journalism class today
Posted by iamandykeim on 9/7/18 at 5:02 pm3087
Best things he said:
-About media: In 2006 vs Tennessee when he said shite on live TV during his halftime interview, he said he was nervous as hell and thought he might get fired for it.
-About his Dos Equis commercial: "You know how many beers I've had the past 12 years? Maybe 10. I've never had a Dos Equis in my life!"
-About trick plays: He said he likes to call them "momentum plays" and that he felt like when he called them that it would be "the wrong move to not call them". I asked him why it was always against Florida that we called trick plays so often to which he replied "I KNOW RIGHT? It was like those guys never watched any game film or something they never saw it coming every damn time!"
-I also asked him if he ever would consider moving into a big job like taking over after Lee Corso is done on Gameday or being LSU's AD and he said that right now he just wants to try to either get back into coaching or watch Ben and Manny play ball while doing the podcast with Smacker.

He probably walk out the class if he asked him that lol.
Also, you should of asked him would he have said the same line he used about Russell shepherd kissing on the mouth IF ITS A GIRL comment at the press conference with this political climate we are in now.

Putting in your undefeated (9-0 that year) senior quarterback definitely would have not hurt anything. Look what Saban did after halftime in the championship game last year.

How many times did he say uh?

Pretty cool that he still hangs around LSU so much.

Sounds like he delivered a quality speech.

He's an 8 or 9 win season away from being the new AD.

I love les. Thankful for all the winning he did here
quote:it couldn’t have hurt but wouldn’t have mattered. Jarrett lee shite his pants when he saw that crimson and white. LSU wouldn’t have won in Tuscaloosa in 11 if lee stayed in. He turned into a pick machine against bama

Did he conclude his Damn Strong Speech with "Have a GREAT day!"?

He tourched Bama the year before in the 4th quarter with the game on the line.
LINK
JJ struggling and Lee coming in to spark the team to a win was a constant scenario for three years. Heck JJ could not move the ball against Vanderbilt and McNeese one season for two quarters and Lee came in and scored two touchdowns on his first two drives with ease.

I’d be ok with this. He’d do well as an AD.
I was more than ready for him to be fired but it’s a shame he didn’t make the changes on offense that needed to be made or he would still be coach.

Honestly how do yall think he would do as AD?
How about the reception of the fans?

You gotta give Lee credit for sticking with the LSU football program after his terrible 2008 season. He just flat got thrown to the wolves that year.
He did have some decent games throughout his career in my opinion, but he absolutely choked every time he faced Bama. 24-58 with 1 TD and 7 interceptions against them.
Although he was instrumental in the 2010 victory with his clutch completion to Randle (I think) when we were pinned down at our own 20.

quote:but the 2011 defense was different. He couldn’t stop turning the ball over against them in Tuscaloosa. He looked scared out of his mind. In the dome the o line couldn’t block at all he would’ve gotten killed. The offense as it was called was completely overmatched.
He tourched Bama the year before in the 4th quarter with the game on the line.

He threw for 1800 yards and 14 touchdowns in 08. The interceptions were a killer though. It became comical after a while.
