This isn't the MLB hall of fame

Threshold to get in isn't that high.

I mean, he had some really good success here, but then he sued LSU after he got fired. F him for that move . Also, due to the vacated wins he doesn't have enough to be eligible for the HOF.

They lowered the threshold to 59.5% supposedly to let Mike Leach in, but consequently made Les Miles eligible again

Do his “off the field” shenanigans with student workers have any bearing on his candidacy?

Has to. His creepy and unprofessional off-the-field issues with students should probably keep him out alone.

I also think he was simply an above-average, but not great, coach who could out-athlete most teams on his schedule and that he never really got the most out of his players offensively, whether that was playing down to weaker opponents or not being able to schematically beat similarly talented teams without insane amounts of good fortune. Insanely dumb fundamental clock management mistakes as well. Good recruiter and motivator, but that doesn't feel like a HOF coach to me.

No, sir. He did Les with more than any LSU coach in history, except maybe Oeaux

There is a very diluted reality of Miles on this board. He is deserving to get in.. vacating wins is the dumbest thing in all of sports.. we won those games and we all know it. Some may not like him, but he kept the program at an elite level and won a natty here. We just ran into a buzzsaw that was Nick Saban and Alabama.

If so, then the HOF is much too generous in their selection process. LM is not deserving.

The accusations made about Les are greatly exaggerated. I am certain he made some inappropriate comments or shite like that, but it is not like he was trolling the football offices trying to bang interns. shite is exaggerated greatly.

He needs to be in the horticulture hall of fame, not the college hall of fame.

Setting aside the farce of "vacating" wins EVERYONE knows happened on the field, he had the best tenue of any LSU HC in history. Yes, including Saban.

Saban a NC, as did Les. However, Les it the only HC in LSU instory to play for two NCs. Saban also only had two 10-win seasons in 5 years. Les had 7 in his 11 (full season) career.

Yes, Les frustratingly failed to fully reach some of his teams' potential. Yes, he stubbornly refused to change/adapt to get the most of his teams. Yes, it was probably time for a change when he was fired. But NO coach in LSU history had a longer sustained period of success than Les.

It sucks that Bama got the rematch in 2011-12 because had it been Oklahoma State, instead, Les would have put together, arguably, the best season in college football history.
