re: Les Miles never ceases to amaze me

It was time for Miles to go. His stubbornness was his undoing and everything you said about Orgeron stepping in just tweaking the offense with the same coaches Miles had was true. To me that speaks highly of Orgeron, IMO.
But I digress, I like Miles. I always have. He was always welcoming to me, he's a great guy, he had an amazing tenure (for the most part, I understand and agree his last few years weren't pretty) while at LSU. Yes, he aggravated me at times but I won't dump on his accomplishments.
Again, see the first sentence in this post. Also, nothing in what he said says to me that he needs to coach again. He may want to and enjoy coaching but he doesn't need to at this point in his life. Like Gray said, look at Mack Brown. He's roughly around the same age, he won at national championship and went to another, where is he? I'm sure he enjoys coaching and misses it as well but he doesn't need to do it.
So while you're jumping all over his case saying no place would take him and yada yada yada, think about that.

Bill Snyder is 77 years old and he is still going strong at K-State. He's kept them pretty relevant his entire tenure at KSU.
Bill Snyder!!!
His record is 202 wins and...... wait for it.......you are gonna love it........and 105 defeats.
Oh hail yes you want to hold up as your justification for hiring an older coach some one that has a lifetime 66% win record. This is your paragon of coaching excellence? If only Les Miles had as good of a record he would still have a job?
Yesssir we want a coach that keeps LSU relevant. And nothing says relevancy better than losing a third of your games, amirite?
Thank you for your deep insight into the mind of a complete and total idiot.
Seriously, RTR are you allowed to cross the street unaided?
But what the Hell, let's fire Orgeron and hire Snyder. Winning 2\3 of your games is top notch. We better hurry and get to the front of the line of big time schools scurrying to hire him.

He's the Forest Gump of coaching. He's damn near retarted but has still accomplished almost everything. You have to respect that weather you like him or not.

Well opinions vary. And Forrest has two "r's."

Exactly.

Okay, that era is over.
But all I know is, when I see this list, and then realize we only have minor bowls to show for the last six years, I get mad as hell.

Holy shite. If Miles had been as shitty as snyder you'd want to lynch him.
Which P5 program did Butch Davis get hired at? That's what I thought.
I'm still waiting for all these P5 programs that have hired 63 year old coaches in the last decade.

Wrong..not this year he didnt. Clemson was every bit as good as Bama this year.
Bama's front 7 has more players with a 1st rd grade than clemson's entire team.

f that dude quit K-State tomorrow, I GUARANTEE you schools (and their would be some big time programs) would be busting his door down to come take over their programs.
bullshite.

I'm simply pointing out that the age excuse where Miles is concerned is total B
Then list all these p5 programs that have hired a 63 year old coach in the last decade. I'll wait.
You all keep saying it's bullshite yet dont ever have any examples of it.

not only did he improve the team overall but he set records that Miles never came close to in 12 years with better talent.
Ahhh yes those 112th,117th,118th ranked rush defenses wouldve just stopped lsu under miles.

He was justly fired and it was time for a change but that in no way means he wasnt a very successful HC at lsu.

He had some success, but he left the football program in worse shape than when he inherited it from Saban.

What kind of person has to start a thread to bash a coach that's been gone a year?
I hope your failures follow you and people are there to remind you.
To bash him while he's coaching is one thing, this is something else.
Let the hate go, it will consume you.

There are some perks to being consumed by hatred.
But all I have for Les is hatred. Frick that frick.

Bull shite.
Once again making definitive statements that you have no proof. Snyder did more with LES at K-State than Miles ever did here. Miles wasted talent here by the truck load. I dont think Snyder was dragging in loads of 3/4/5 star recruits at K-State and proceeding to shite away that talent.
And more to the point, yea, he would be hired up in a second while your boyfriend stands around with his joint in his hand. You cant admit that but its true.

I'm sure Miles wants to coach again, he might just have a hard time finding a suitor for a 64 year old though. The inability to get hired this past off-season with plenty head start speaks volumes.
At one time, Miles was a better coach than he was his last years at LSU. He got a little too set in his ways and was unwilling to adjust to the times. Great ambassador, average coach recently.
