He wasn't good, but I've heard much worse. I dont notice them nearly as much as some people.

It's a baseball regional, they are just throwing people in there unprepared with 4 teams to work with. You'll be lucky to get decent color or PbP

Wonder if the father of the kid who said is made to throw 100 pitches everyday by his dad was pissed when he gave the kids full name on air

I'd rather listen to a announcer combo of Maximus and Choctaw tonight than listen to those two clowns again

He is a wanntabe commentator and is trying way to hard to say something important or prevalent. Over loads his mouth a lot and likes to listen to himself. He knows the game and is trying hard to convince the listener he knows the game instead of just providing color.

I hate to sound elitist, and in this case I am, but this is LSU Baseball...why the hell is ESPN sticking with f***ing South Carolina (who I like) beating their opponent 16-0 while LSU is playing in a close game in arguably the best atmosphere in all of college baseball???

In the post game interview the guy told Nola that he wasn't impressed with him, but then he turned things around. It was kind of funny to hear. At least the guy doesn't say different things based on who he is talking to.

My guess is that they viewed a USC/Clemson matchup as being high theater.

But you're right, LSU is the place to show college basaeball in its glory.

Probably because you have USC and Clemson in the same regional. Honestly, the BR regional has LSU and a pretty weak field. Like us, I guess most folks expect LSU to walk through this regional.

Yeah, I mean, I know they want people from all over to start watching college baseball. I get that. But to have a team with a ridiculously great record playing to a completely packed house on ESPN3 is a head scratcher. I have about 217 ESPN channels - we can't get on one of those?

In football and basketball, the best teams seem to always be on tv even when they're playing the most awful teams. But I do know all sports are not created equal. Still, the LSU baseball atmosphere would seem to be a great selling point for college baseball. And many people would probably watch just hoping for the big upset...that's the nature of the beast.

No you don't have to listen to him today. That's why every remote and computer keyboard I've ever seen comes with:

Just open two browsers and listen to porn while watching the LSU game. You have to take advantage of ESPN3's unique advantages over TV...I'm not serious.

My favorite line was "yep, that ball was foul because it was on the outer half of the chalk."

My favorite line was when Cotton came in the game. Meatball #1 says he's going for a 3 out save even though the game was in the 8th inning. Then meatball #2, when referring to Cotton, says "well he's no Ron Guidry." Well no shite. On the other hand, he has been pretty damn dominant for 2 years in a great conference.

They have to talk/improvise for four hours, chances are you are gonna find some things to make fun of or critique. Doesn't bother me.

I didn't think Game 1's color could have gotten any worse. Who in the hell is ESPN hiring to do this? That was embarassing for them last night.

This next game, I'm going to count how many times the color guy says the "pitcher's angle" to home plate. He wouldn't shut up about the angle from which the pitcher throws the ball. He rambled on and on about arm slots, left vs. left. and right vs. right match-ups, and where the pitcher was on the rubber all game long. For someone supposedly "knowledgeable" about baseball, he had no idea how to give good input into a baseball broadcast. I long for Omaha to have Kyle Peterson calling our games.

He sounded like a geometry teacher for most of the game.

I personally loved his tangent about teenage hispanic pitchers and the effects pitching has in their arms

He never missed a good opportunity to take a jab at LSU. Any time the other guy said something positive about LSU, there he was to say, "yeah but..."

So he's a negatiger. Did he congratulate LSU on a great season in the first inning too?
