Don’t think it will happen, but if the SEC kicks LSU out of the league it’s inviting the worst legal storm ever experienced associated with college athletics. It’s not just football removal, it’s everything including woman’s athletics. Student athletes, who came to an SEC school, which commands better financial opportunities than other conferences, having ESPN coverage, would have reason for civil cases at a massive scale. Not to mention all of the collateral affects on businesses, families, on and on that have financial interest in LSU and it being a member of the SEC.

I can’t help but imagine a class action happening. The SEC has to realize this will happen to a scale that they can’t handle from a time standpoint, much less a financial standpoint.

I keep telling myself there’s no way in hell the SEC would follow through with this. But Sankey is coming across as the type of guy who would follow through with this solely because he’s pussy hurt. I guess it really will come down to whether or not the other schools have a spine.

LSU has friends in high places.

Landry had a direct line to Trump. Speaker of the house is an LSU guy.

We have tendrils in powerful positions.

Bring it the frick on Sankey. He would cause the dissolution of the SEC due to the massive damages caused.

You want the end of the SEC, make my day bro

I’m the same way. Its one of those situations where reason would tell you “they’re not really serious about this, they’re just bluffing, will come to their senses, just playing the game for a little bit” whatever. BUT when you’re someone that has had the power and get paid the amount of money Greg Sankey is compensated, some people lose a grasp of reality, and reason. This is all Greg Sankey’s vendetta for being challenged I’m afraid. A rich, powerful, ignorant man can be very dangerous.

It seems like the number of lawsuits might set a record and end the SEC. Hopefully cooler heads will prevail this week and we can enjoy what looks like it could be a great season.

And make no mistake, if LSU leaves, they won’t bring down the SEC, but they would definitely boost the standing and marketability of whatever conference we join, which would pinch the SEC.

Can fans sue the ncaa if anything happens to games that we’ve bought tickets for??

Sounds like a dumb question but there’s a lotta dumb shite going on.

I can’t imagine kicking someone out who at the end of the day didn’t do anything.
And how can you not even have penalties before it reaches that far? Because at worse LSU talked to players who got a TRO?

You really think the other principled institutions of the SEC want lawyers poking around their house doing discovery during LSUs inevitable countersuits? That’s why I think this is all posturing, and risky at that. LSUs attorneys would subpoena phone records, emails, text messages, etc about recruiting practices of every other member institution. You think all these guys are 100% clean? And god help them if they find the conference was aware of any of it.

They don’t have the balls for this is the biggest insult in our states history, from a state that’s been insulted more than any other.

I don’t give AF, after this season, I want us looking for the best option and tell them all to GFTS.

My preferences after this year:
1. Big 10

2. ACC - I guess they have a shitty TV deal, but assume LSU could change that.

3. Big 12 - These schools suck compared to ACC brands, so don’t love it.

4. Independent - Scheduling in the short term likely a major issue in football. It would be hard to fill a 12 game schedule if it happened next season.

Sen John Kennedy said today that if the SEC does expel LSU, Congress " will be on them like a Hobo on a ham sandwich".
