Leavitt throws like Burrow 2018 BUT runs like Daniels 2023.

He has only practiced for about a month and hasn't played since last october before this game. He has a lot of rust to knock off and already looks exciting. He's only going to get better as the season goes on.

Still early, but he’s tracking in the right direction to have an awesome year.

I’ll take it either way.

He was not as accurate as either Burrow/Daniels were in their senior years and does not appear to have the same arm strength. Leavitt is a good QB, but looks one echelon below Burrow/Daniels.

But he's only played one game. Too early to make a final judgment.

Yeah, it's the first game of the season. It's all we have.

Maybe I should wait until the last game of the season to find a comp to predict how he might do this year.

Oh, and thank you for your excellent analysis.

Go frick your monkey.

Leavitt is not nearly as good after one game passing as Burrow or Daniels were in their second year at LSU.

But in 2023, Daniels won the Heisman. After one game, Leavitt is tracking better than Daniels rushing when Daniels won the Heisman.

Daniels 2022 - 4.7 Y/C on 13/3 C/G
Daniels 2023 - 8.4 Y/C on 11.3 C/G
Leavitt .2026 - 9.4 Y/C on 12.0 C/G

This is very exciting.

Better rushing than Daniels' Heisman season?

I think you should do a quarter by quarter comparison. Maybe even drive by drive.

Leavitt and the passing game need improvement. He did have multiple passes dropped.

There were four pretty bad drops, including the int. He just needs to get the timing down and move the pocket and he will be good

Burrow has better form. Leavitt has a low release that may cause issues against real competition.

Leavitt reminds me of Tysom Hill. Strong, reckless abandon.

Comparisons to Burrow are borderline unfair. If we add the drops to his completion percentage he did well. No one has been anywhere near Burrow’s mastery since he played. Burrow’s receivers were head and shoulders above what Leavitt is playing with.

I don't want Leavitt to be running every game like that. It'd be like Jayden in 2022. Eventually that shite will catch up to him. Hopefully as they get more live reps together, they'll gel and he won't have to run so much.

Or use some of his games from previous years. Or wait until he’s played 3-4 games.
