Well burrow wasn't exactly good his first several games at LSzu. He came alive the end of the year. He was projected a 6th round draft choice after his first year.

take a deep breath, my man.

After one game, Leavitt is tracking better than Daniels rushing when Daniels won the Heisman.
Jared Verse is good.

He was not as accurate as either Burrow/Daniels were in their senior years and does not appear to have the same arm strength

Probably why he's specifically comparing RS Jr Leavitt to Burrow's RS Jr season.

We didn’t really take any deep shots which has always been a part of Kiffin/Weiss play calling.
You have to wonder if that’s because of Leavitt or the Wide Receiver group.
At some point you have to stretch the field.
Maybe Kiffin wanted to prioritize establishing a physical rushing attack.

Leavitt's running style reminds me of Darrius Guice

Someone else posted this in the game thread, but he sure reminded me of Johnny Football with his running style. Jayden was a much smoother runner. Both styles are obviously very effective though.

Leavitt is a good QB, but looks one echelon below Burrow/Daniels.
With that said, I'm really nitpicking. This is one hell of a team. I believe more than ever that they can go undefeated.

He does not run anything like Daniels
Daniels is a very smooth and fast r runner
Leavitt is cat like, you think you have him and like a cat he puts a move on you

I don't want Leavitt to be running every game like that. It'd be like Jayden in 2022. Eventually that shite will catch up to him. Hopefully as they get more live reps together, they'll gel and he won't have to run so much.
However, Daniels ran the ball almost twice as effectively in 2023 as he did in 2022.
I have no problem with Leavitt running the ball like Daniels did in 2023. Leavitt's first game is tracking like Daniels' 2023 season.
I would imagine that as the o-line gels, Leavitt will be less likely to be forced to run. It's nice to have that option. It makes the DCs on our schedule scheme for it. That gives LSU an advantage in all other aspects of its offense.

Like Daniels, Leavitt knows when to make the important cut.

His running style scares me. I can see him losing the ball when getting tackled from behind. And the herky-jerky running makes me think we will need the back up QBs at some point this year.

Daniels head doesn’t move when he runs. He is a lot faster than Sam.

Burrow also had Chase and Jefferson.....

you must be drunk. That first half passing was a disaster. Hitch in him motion will always create tips/knockdowns on short to intermediate passes. He was much better in the 2nd half.
He isn't close to Burrow as a thrower, and he isn't close to Daniels as a scrambler....but he is pretty good . I hope we don't have to count on over a 100 yds scrambling to be an effective offense. That just want get us where we want to go.

Burreauxs accuracy his 2nd year was off the charts, gotta give Sam a lot more time.
