I remember a guy who found Green to beat UGA. A throw I’ve yet to see Sam make in a high leverage situation.

I was at a fair number of practices in 03. If we played Florida the week before, which was a bye week for LSU, it's not a close game. Instead, Florida loses to Ole Miss, which is not considered a big time team at the time, then LSU returns a kick for a touchdown and the team goes on autopilot. Florida kicks it up a notch and LSU doesn't respond.
Last week's game has zero comparison. Huge emotions on both sides. Let's see how the team responds this week.

The throw to Watkins was a better throw. Green was open by 8 yards all Mauck had to do was get the ball out there. Watkins was a dime into tight coverage. Just a much more difficult throw.

Have you not seen some of the wide open receivers he’s missed this season?
Also, I don’t remember Mauk doing as much running as Sam

Well prior to his injury in 02 he was averaging 8.3 rushes per game and that’s including the game he was hurt in so he ran a good bit before he got hurt. Ran the ball 15 times in the Florida win. He went from a 48% passer in 02 to 64% in 03 so he changed his game a lot.

Nothing to argue with here.
I was so pissed when he got hurt. I literally…minutes before he got hurt asked a friend…why is he still in the game?

Same, it was one of those things where everybody is fearing it then it happens. Still never heard a good reason why he was in there. It’s funny though, Saban did catch his share of criticism early on but I can’t imagine how the modern fans would react to a UAB loss or an injury like that one.

If so, he wasn't the only dumbass who thought LSU would roll Ole Miss. They just ignored that Ole Miss brought back over half of last year's starters and had a huge advantage at the most important position on the field.
There are only two gimme's left on the schedule: McNeese and Arkansas. Regardless of how many of those games will have us favored, any of them could become losses if the OL and Leavitt don't improve.
Leavitt is nothing like Mauck. Plus Mauck had Clayton, Henderson and Skyler.
At was at 2003 Florida and we were flat on offense. The game might have been different had Daniels not dropped a gimme pick six when it was 7-0. Saban had sounded an alarm after the Moo U game the prior week that the offense was sluggish even with though the score looked good.
