No comparison. 2003 was Mauck's third year at
LSU as a 26 year old. He's first two years at LSU were painful to watch. I remember thinking this guy can't hit the broad side of a barn. Leavitt will be a lot better next year if he returns (reference Burrows and Daniels). I know this is not what all you "coaches" out there want to hear.

Very true, I didn’t think our coaching staff would allow our great players to play so conservatively in the first half of the game. If the coaches thought they could beat Ole piss by making Chambliss pass the football then the loss is really on them. Don’t play scared , play fearless with the hair on fire attitude.

In no post I made did I say or imply Sam Leavitt will not be successful.
The comparison I was responding to had nothing to do with that. I was responding to a dumb take earlier that his TD to Watkins was a better throw than Mauck’s TD throw to Green. Sam Leavitt is a superior athlete to Matt Mauck.

I do think a team learns more about itself after a loss, but before saying this team reminds you of the 2003 team, let it play out first then if they go undefeated the rest of the way and win a NC then they can remind you of the 2003 team.

I wish he had the qb smarts of Mauck. He needs to knock off the fng hero ball and let his receivers cook. We are gonna start to lose wr recruits if we don’t start getting these guys going.
