They've got to invest more at TE/WR though.

Just to many negative outcome plays, at times when momentum is needed. Incomple passes, taking loss/sack, inaccuracies, poor decisions....just seem to occur at times when hes most needed. Makes some terrific throws, runs, etc Yes Last night, LSU needed a 1st down only, and the game is over, before overtime. He couldnt deliver. Too many times where the top dog is needed, and he disappears. Hes good enough to keep things interesting, and a really good athlete. Just not THAT guy Next year will be as disappointing if no real changes are made.

I think he’s have a too many int regardless but I also don’t think i’ve seen a QB who has almost every bad pass go off a defender or WR and go straight a defender as often as he does.

PFF has him with just 3 turnover worthy plays this season (meaning a play they deemed should have been a turnover [or was a turnover] due to his direct play, not a tipped pass, not a dropped pass INT, etc), this is among the lowest of any QB in the SEC this season. Only Stockton and Philo are lower with just 2. Sellers, Jackson of Ark and Mateer have 10 by comparison this season. Minchey who we just played has 5 on the season and even Chambliss has 5, almost double his. So Sam is not a "poor decision maker" like some try and paint him out to be at all, far from it.

For whatever reason, he's had incredibly bad luck overall. The fumble is 100% on him from last weekend, but the INT was tipped as he threw it, and this isnt the first time thats happened this season unfortunately. Between drops that turn into INTs, tipped pass INTs, or a dude's helmet deflecting a pass into an INT he's had some ridiculously poor luck. Of his 9 turnovers this season, only 3 can directly be attributed to him. A number of these are due to some really bad OL play, like Weston being backed up into him on a few occasions.

I’m not 100% sold on Leavitt yet, but the kid has guts and is tough as a coffin nail. Let’s not forget that his injury kept him from getting valuable practice time with his receiving corps. On top of that, we’re lacking the big-bodied receivers who can go up and win contested catches. I’m not ready to write him off until we see what he can do with some chemistry and better weapons around him.

Some people said the same thing about Jaden Daniels his first year. They were wrong.

Jayden Daniels is one of the most elite scramblers ever to play the sport, in the passing era

SL is a decent runner, especially now that hes in a real conference with athletes everywhere
Hes not elite. Very few are.

Decision making and accuracy matter, he needs drastic improvement in both
