Ironically, it may have helped to have the computer polls here - but people didn’t like that either - you will always have someone getting shafted when only 4 teams are in the playoffs.

I wish LSU fans would quit crying about bama making it. They earned it by beating UGA. Would FSU have really done anything with a 3rd string QB. I dont care for bama and think had Daniels stayed the whole game LSU still had a chance to beat them but getting on here crying how FSU got cheated is absurd. Had FSU had their starting QB and got screwed then you could really bitch but shits happens and it happened to FSU.

They screwed up a decade ago when they stopped at four teams when there are five power 5 conferences. It just took a decade to play out the flaw. I’m not a big proponent of 12 as I think 8 was more than adequate, but I’ll take it over four.

Imagine what will happen with the expanded playoff. You’ll have so many teams with similar resumes and records fighting for the lower seeds the committee’s corruption will become more and more obvious and brazen.

Eh, idk. It’s not a huge deal in my mind. With the PAC12 all but gone in 24, the champion from the big 4 conferences get a first week bye (but still have to play a conference championship game). The 5 seed gets to play the highest ranked conference champions from the group of 5, at home.
I really think scenarios like what’s happened to FSU get cleaned up in the new format.

For some reason people in the CFB world think Bama and Saban are better than they are and they (or a team that beat them) HAS to be in the playoff.
I get that Saban is the GOAT. But this is far from his best Bama team and the SEC was a bit down this year.
Bama is in for one reason only. History. And it shouldn’t be that way.
