Yeah if Schloss can evade his reputation Texas is going to be just as much of a problem as Aggie was since he’s been at A&M. I just think what’s happened will be a reputation blow in the short run and lsu will capitalize. I’m sure it’ll level out but I like LSU’s chances in the recruiting trail against UT

I hope so. It makes sense to me. He's going to be a rich man regardless, so I hope he chooses LSU to make a great run next season.

Sometimes you read post and you get the impression that posters don't know a single thing going on in baseball outside of LSU.

Then you read this one, and it removes any doubt of that.

He would certainly have a starting job. With White and Jones leaving, we will need another big time hitter.

You think?

Do you think if White and Jones weren't leaving that he wouldn't have a starting job?

Probably. Especially since Kling didn’t pan out the way we hoped. We need a CF that can hit.

Unless these kids grew up TAMU fans, they don’t really know anything of the rivalry. TAMU joined the SEC 12 years ago. These guys we’re 11-12 at the oldest, possibly as young as 5-6.

Some of you people amaze me. Lol

Texas has been in the CWS twice in the last 4 years (2021, 2022).

I think Texas has always, and still takes baseball pretty damn seriously since they’ve had more CWS appearances than anyone. lol

There is no probably about it. He's an every day starter the same way White was. Meaning, if he goes 1-10 one weekend and the rant starts calling for him to sit on the bench, he's not coming out of the lineup.... Ever

This would be a massive get for JJ.

It’s going to boil down to how much he trusts and enjoyed playing for Schloss. He’s getting paid either way he goes. Probably talking to guys that played for JJ and weighing the assistants we have on staff. He likes Cain who really helped get him to gay&m so I think it comes down to relationships. Hopefully Schloss pissed him off at some point this season and he decides to come play for the good guys.

This would be a huge get. Let’s hope JJ can deal the deal.

They just fired a coach that took them to 3 CWS, and 2 in the past 4 years. Seems like they take baseball pretty seriously.

Don't try to play it off. You worded it as if LSU was head and shoulders above Texas. LSU and Texas are at the top of the college baseball mountain.

I have had sons playing in Texas HS baseball since 2016. Best Texas HS baseball are in towns/schools like Tomball, Sinton, Boerne, & Calallen. Worst is in the big cities like San Antonio and Houston (Texas 6A for football, Texas 4A for best baseball).

Families in these 4A schools and rural suburbs don’t want their sons going to Austin: weird, leftist, homeless, drugs evident on every block around UT.

Yeah, but LSU beat them in their last one and LSU has played for 2 more Natties since then.
