Scott Woodward on Coach McMahon per AFR

Not bad for a first year coach taking over a mess

Dammit Scott I said this a few days ago & got downvoted

quote:

Because of the situation, I’d call last year for McMahon Year 0. This was year 1 & next year is year 2.

Rant’s having a reverse melt, haven’t seen this place so euphoric in a while

Great win tonight

Been screaming this for three months. What a huge win. Was bound to happen sooner or later, ball just didn’t bounce our way vs UGA/UF/Dayton/in & out at the end of A&M.

I hope McMahon gets the fan support he deserves from this point forward.

Also, Hannibal is a player I will probably always remember.

LSU has the best fans in the world and the worst…….depending on the sport and the year

Because the basketball players are secretly software engineers?

I think it’s more that the team is learning to win as a team … it’s a process. Ward following the shot for the put back probably wouldn’t have happened earlier in the year. The team is building confidence in themselves and McMahon.

With all the bashing he got and now all the praise going out to the team now, just goes to show winning really cures everything. He goes on a streak to end the season and we get on the NCAAt bubble, then he’s going to have LSU fans excited about basketball again.

Turned that around in short order compared to where we were a week ago.

Now Saturday is vitally important. Can not have a let down. You’ve got fan engagement, you’ve got to capitalize on it.

Nah, last night was the win we needed. Sure it would be amazing to win 3 Q1 games in a row, but realistically we are looking at a 10-8 finish in SEC now.

I was expecting 8-10 a week ago

Easily the most accurate description of the LSU fanbase.

JD won the heisman not too long ago and college baseball CWS…it’s not all gloom and doom.

LSU athletics are coming up big. Woody has changed the game at LSU all while decimating A&M. A true tiger

A lot of posters dug their heels in and went to bat for him despite pretty much relentless trolling.

The outburst of threads last night was a lot of LSU fans telling the sidewalk fans they can pack their bags & head to McNeese now.

Like I said, it was a matter of time before they pulled out a big one. Clearly on the comeup.

You would also have to add that many of us are also really stupid for it to be the most accurate.

That’s an understatement.

If you’d told me both Adam Miller & Jalen Cook would make minimal contributions in ‘23 / ‘24 I would be thinking catastrophe.

The jump from last year to this year & resilience of this team is nothing short of impressive. He has a lot of momentum to build on here.

If they manage to win out he may make some coach of the year lists.

I hate this line of thinking. It's insufferable.

He basically killed the ghost of Will Wade last night. Loved Wade but he’s gone. Still have to turn these wins into consistency so have a ways to go but McMahon has shown he can coach, he can develop players and he can motivate his team. Figure out the recruiting and we’ll be fine.

Nice win for McMahon for sure last night, gotta keep it going though. We now enter the cake part of the schedule and with expectations raised people will expect 4-1 so going 3-2 and especially 2-3 would be really disappointing to close out.

A week ago pretty much nobody expected us to be in a position now to have a real shot of a winning conference record.

And the 2025 football class will win a national championship or 2, and watchout for next year's football team too. Football is shaping up to be dominant for years. Women's basketball is following suit. This may be having a little spillover to men's basketball that is looking more promising every day. I love the girls supporting the men's basketball team. Reese's enthusiasm was positively infectious!
