Great article in so many respects:

#1 that Landry was trying to reach out to TM7 and help

#2 that Landry believes no one person is bigger than LSU

#3 that Landry is a great ambassador for LSU

#4 that Landry is still wanting to help TM7 despite being shunned/ignored

to LL

i have a feeling people posting ITT didn't read the article. Landry seems like he was trying to help TM and had been friends with him for awhile prior to all the recent stuff. I don't think anything in that article was wrong for him to say. Some people just hate listening to reality or anything negative about an LSU player, even when it comes from another LSU player.

Nice mastery of the English language. What did Landry say that was so out of line? He was trying to help someone who apparently did not want to be helped. I have no issues with what Landry said in the article.

this article says everything about whats been going on...Mathieu obviously has a problem and needs to be helped...if he does not want to be helped then all you can do is wash your hands and just look after him

Hell, it boosted my opinion of LL and his character. I thought it was a great article.

The truth hurts, tm7 needs to hear this kind of stuff...humility is the key to the badgers success imo

Single High-Safety against Drew Brees was a ridiculous defensive coverage to be in against a team with the passing game the Saints are in possession of.

Landry's not ever been a coverage Safety. He's a Centerfielder. The 'Skins Defensive staff made him look really poor in that game.

But you're right. Instead of just standing there, he shouldn't have committed either way. When you're the only one there you have to make a decision on what to do, and that's what a good offense is designed to do through the air: force you to make a choice, & then throw it into the area you vacated.

The coverage he was asked to play put him in the position he was in and we took advantage of it. You can't play single high and expect him to guess right every single time, much less expect Drew Brees not to make any Safety pay no matter which way they guess.

Your take is pretty much uninformed bro. He's a good safety but got sh!teous coaching.

Guess that goes for every one of us on here talking about it then?

Laron was a great Tiger and still represents well, I think. He has as much right to an opinion about all of this as anyone else; and if he made an attempt to mentor TM7 then he has even more of a right.

Here's my take: TM 7 got too big for his britches, wouldn't listen to ANYONE, and got the banhammer for being immature and whatever else he did. There is lee-way at every program and breaking points at every program.

TM reached his here as many people were trying to help him. Maybe he HAD to be chopped to finally get it. Maybe that will get his mind right. Maybe not. But I feel comfortable that LSU is doing the right things and it will work out best for all parties

and yes tons of respect for LL.

Sounds like TM7 got way too many damn chances and enough is enough.....

I agree with LL

Let's move on and not put up with players who don't want to do what's best for the team and LSU.

From everything I've heard from former players, several of them, from Corey Webster to P.Peterson to G.Dorsey to L.Landry, M.Claiborne, were asked to talk to TM this summer as they worked out together. Forget L.Landry's "past". He tried & tried to help a friend/ player in need of help & no one should do anything but praise him for his efforts. It's kind of telling for one like TM, who lives with his tweet/text buttons on highspeed, to have stopped responding. Still like the kid & hope he gets his life straightened out.

wow....strong stuff. I do think he could've kept it personal in lieu of the press, but apparently this is the only way he thought TM would get the message of how pissed he was.

I do believe TM is facing hard reality where he couldn't while he was The Man. Unfortunately, I think following through on the permaban from LSU is the only way he will truly learn a lesson.

Good for him. I'm sick of these idiots on the Rant who don't understand/care about the rules and integrity of the program. All future and former players have to play by them. Live within the confines, work hard and hopefully reap the benefits.
