i have no idea if hes going to go to two national title games. But when he leaves we will find out where he ranks with all of the other coaching luminaries we have had. I just don't have an irrational hatred for O and his coaching ability. He hasn't earned an extension and until he does something that warrants one he shouldn't get one.

Kiffin s first 3 years coaching college he went 7-6, 8-5 and 10-2.

Duke was on a 27 year bowl drought when Spurrier won that ACC title in '89. Infinitely more impressive than one good season at post-Pete USC.

He also went 0-1 in bowl games.

I don’t know if your rember but post Pete USC was heavily sanctioned.

I don't think I have an irrational hatred for O and his coaching abilities either. I just look at the facts, mainly his previous results, and project forward based off of that. Nothing more.

They lacked depth but were loaded with talent.

Well that's usually the difference between the elite teams and the ok teams, depth.

And that was a good team. Every other team Lane's ever coached until he got to CUSA was a disappointment.

O looks to be setting up Kiffin for the next OC and his successor as LSU's HC. O is like a lot of guys at that level - personal (not institutional) loyalty is paramount to him.

Tell me I'm wrong.

Kiffin is not looking for an OC gig. He left the nation's premiere OC job to become HC at FAU.

If Kiffin comes to LSU, it means they picked Kiffin over Aranda (and anyone else) to be Orgeron's successor.

The other factor here is that if the Ensminger hire tells you anything, it's that O isn't looking to hire assistants he sees as potential replacements for himself. I doubt Aranda would even be here if entirely up to Orgeron.

Was a good interview. Am I the only one that used to hate Kiffin at USC, Oakland, Bama and UT, but don't really mind him now that he's at FAU? I kinda want him back in the SEC now.

I was afraid he and O would've gotten us on probation, but with him as OC and Aranda DC would have been awesome x's and o's. Coach O did have the right idea there.

Agreed. Kiffin here this year would have been scary.

someone referred to him as the Millennial Spurrier. I am entertained.

I mean, Spurrier won a Heisman at then bottom-of-the-barrel UF. I think that's an integral part of Spurrier's brash self-confidence.

I'm just not sure i've seen something so dumb in a while, and that includes Tiger Ree posts.

Why in the holy hell would Kiffin go backwards and work for LSU at this point? He's going to be a big time P5 HC in a year.

HCIW? not a possibility.

Kiffen is a child. He doesn't have the persona to be a successful head coach. He was at Alabama for 3 years and was he ever allowed to speak to the media? What does that tell you? He also tweeted at his former employer after Alabama destroyed USC in the season opener a couple years ago. He made some really poor recruiting choices of players in one year at Tennessee and he bolted on Tennessee as soon as he got something better. He also left the Alabama team right before the playoffs. And he was publicly criticizing the Alabama atmosphere as being miserable to work in when he leveraged the success of that environment to get FAU.

Aside from being a child, he's also not really that good of a play caller and has no spine to carry the weight of a major NCAA program. I think you could call some plays and score points if Saban and Pete Carroll were feeding you 5-star recruits like a machine every year.

Do not want at LSU. Get someone with some integrity.

Again, you’re a moron.

Go look at what he did at Alabama with a True Freshmen QB who could barely throw the ball.
2700+ yards 23 TDS to 6 Picks and another 900+ yards rushing and 13 more TDS.

That would be on of the most successful seasons ever for an LSU QB.

He took 3 mediocre QBs and put up insane number 3 years in a row.

I dont Think his personality is any different than Spurriors.

Well Saban also knew Kiffin was going to leave and he had Sark in his back pocket. What he didn't anticipate was Sark bolting almost immediately after when the NFL called.

You're an idiot because your arguments about him as an OC. Sure I'll take him as an OC with a media gag order that he can't talk publicly.

Even as an OC, he wasn't inventing some new offense. He isn't Urban Myer. Bama and USC fans cringed at his play calling. The only real different thing he brought to Alabama was the ability to recruit nationally outside their region 5-star QBs. Alabama won the Natty with Greg McElroy and went undefeated in the regular season with John Parker Wilson. When you have Saban's defense and Saban's recruiting, Blake Sims was throwing to the best WR in college football and had a Heisman RB with 5-star RBs backing him up. Also OJ Howard as another weapon and one of the best OLs in the country.

You are over-valuing what Kiffen can do and none of that matters as a head coach. He had a gag order by Saban with the media because he's a child. He didn't change who he was. He was still bad-mouthing his former employer 3yrs after working for Saban.

You don't marry a ho. Have a great time, let her do her thing. Enjoy it. She's good for one role but not wife.

1. You were talking about him as a play caller. So it makes sense to y’all about when he was calling plays.

2. He won a lot of games and put up algreat stats with 3 shitty QBs. none of them 5 stars. He didn’t just lean on the defense, he scored points and aired it out better than a bama ever has under Saban.

3. Why does he have to invent a whole new offense to be a great offensive mind?

4. He’s only been gone from
bama 1 year.

5. He took a 3-9 team and went 11-3 in 1 year.

6. I dont Care if Saban likes him. And I dont Care what he says about his former employers. He’s fun he talks shite. So did Spurrior.
