You’re delusional…Bama hates LSU. They let others do their dirty work for them. That makes them worse than Sankey. THAT is their style as you say or how they operate.

Are you kidding me? The SEC did this not LSU.…it’s all on them and deep down they know that but thought they could get away with it because they’ve gotten away with so much over the years that their arrogance and emotions took over their logic. Play stupid games win stupid prizes.

I just laugh at anyone now that doesn't believe the SEC and by extension, the sports media, absolutely hates LSU

You seem to think everyone involved in this is similarly motivated as you are. They are not.

Sports are made of roughly two groups of people: the fans and the business people. You are a fan. The media and the administrators of the leagues and teams are business people. You are motivated by escapism; they are motivated by money. When they make decisions against your team it’s not because of preferences of one team over another; it’s because they think that’s the best strategy to keep the money flowing.

There is some crossover. The league commissioner might also be a fan. But it has to be rare someone reaches that level and his fanaticism is his driving force - maybe his ego but not his team preference.

Interesting thread. The SEC should have stayed out of this mess created by the NCAAs untimely decision. But Sankys decision to thumb its nose to the Courts isn’t going to play out well. This mess likely would have resolved itself but it now appears that the SEC is choosing which teams can have 5 th year players by its seriously flawed decisions. My guess is that the SEC committee and decision makers are going to be having much less fun on these boards as they have to listen to countless hours of legal strategy to deal with the poor decisions made. No doubt Chambliss and his situation is going to be a problem. Not sure how the SEC gets out of this at this point but LSU didn’t create the problem. The rules and the law are not being applied evenly and as happy as it made Sanky to have those roster spots filled, he will now learn that this was never an LSU issue.

The SEC outsmarted themselves when they created broad rules without defining them clearly. It would have been easy to define a “professional athlete” with time and discussion. Instead they rammed a decision through and should know creating rules, regulations, policy and procedure takes time and thought. Rushing anything like these types of decisions is only going to create more work and more mess down the road.

The NCAA created the bigger problem. Mascona was right when he said they could have simply applied 5 for 5 to next year and avoided this whole mess. Decisions have consequences. Considering consequences in consultation with a good attorney would have avoided this larger problem.

They thought a war of words - their own and through their media puppets - would buckle LSU as it was worked with Woodward and the Wade situation.

This group refused to be cancelled and bullied and does appear to have put the SEC in a tougher spot than if they had left things alone.

The players are not the only ones whose eligibility has run out. Heads should roll in Birmingham.
