I totally understand having a fake ID for the purposes of buying alcohol or sneaking into a club as a college student. But for the purposes to enter a casino to gamble??? I'm 27 and find zero joy in going to a casino which is why I've been only twice and stayed for a short period each time.

They don't get to make them big, pretty buildings because everyone shares your sentiment.

I bet you couldn't pick Lanard out of a group of five players. I would imagine the fake ID didn't have his real name, either.

You're kidding yourself in this day of social media coupled with random happenstance that he would not be recognized in a very Public venue.

You do know the cops didn't magically appear. They were called and asked to press charges. If y'all want to be mad at anyone that he was arrested be mad at the casino for CALLING the cops instead of letting him go.

Absolutely false. They were called alright, but asking to be arrested is laughable. Underage gambling is not the establishments rule, it's a gaming law.

I went through so many fake IDs when I was young. Making then was kind of a hobby.

I know it's wrong but that petty of a crime they could have just gave him a warning

I agree 100% but in some states that can be considered obstruction, which probably wouldn't stick, but could bring felony charges

I bet his brother had said enough to him to punish him mentally and this sort of thing won't happen again.

CBS should be ashamed of their headline.

Their Headline:
quote:

Report: LSU RB Lanard Fournette arrested on Gambling Charge

Trying to sneak into a casino with a fake ID is something extremely minor. CBS' headline leads you to believe he is involved in some sort of elaborate gambling scheme.

Much better to be arrested for this than to punch a girl, steal or get in a fight.

Then again you see the way Leonard and his family is going through money.

Sadly they may all be broke 5 years after his career ends

Yea... then everyone from here to Houston will know that you can get away with using a fake id at the casino and only get a warning! It's not just Fournette the casino has to worry about!

I hate to see that. He had a great spring game. I thought he would be starter in 2 yrs. His brother is gone. Coach O shouldn't be tough situation if he sits him for few games.

Guys. You're talking about a casino and gambling for real money. Even though petty, they have to follow every law to the 'T'.
