She is the most shamelessly overpromoted talent in a long time.
BUT, whoever handled her promotions was hugely successful given the raw material they had to work with.
They have made her a star. Lets see if she has any staying power.

All I know is I'm from Rayville and my mom was from Winnsboro and I could find you 50 girls within a 30 mile radius of there this afternoon that sound just like her?? ETA: The accent, not the singing talent!!

No one eats their own like Louisiana. Most states would be proud when a country girl from there hits it big and especially when they come home and even give you a Geaux Tigers.

She’s a good gal from my hometown. She worked her arse off (pardon the pun) to get where she is. She used to do a Hannah Montana routine around town at functions and festivals when she was just a tike. She lived in a camper trailer for years in Nashville and her dad (a friend of my dad) managed her career and allowed her to spread her wings and fly later on when she hit it big. I know for a fact she has turned down film roles that she considered to be too risqué for her audience. Yellowstone, for example. They rewrote a role for her after she originally turned them down.
Lainey is good people and more successful than 99% of these hard legs. Like they say, if you have haters then you’re at least doing something right.

I've been living under a rock and, not being a modern country fan, had never heard of her until some funny clips of Lainey on Theo Von's show showed up on my YT timeline a couple of months ago.
Her folksy Dolly-esque personality & curvaceous-ness made me do further research & go down the rabbit hole. I discovered she is a N. Louisiana Baskin girl with a gift at writing hit songs currently ruling country for the past couple of years, this, after hustling towards her goal of stardom since she was 12 as a weekend Hannah Montana impersonator.
I genuinely love "Somewhere Over Laredo" & her feat. with Hardy's "Wait In The Truck" and added them to my playlist. I'm a Lainey Wilson fan now.
