IMO The attorney is too knee-deep and emotionally and PR-invested in it to realize that this isn’t going anywhere.
All reasonable people know that Lacy played a role in this wreck. Was he overcharged criminally?… possibly….Maybe. But unfortunately that doesn’t even matter at this point.

Like a nasty wound that just keeps getting picked at.
Are they angling in on dollars in civil court?
Is Ory trying to raise his profile and Kyren’s family is cool with it?
Is there some type of political outcome in play?
Beyond fricking bizarre

Kyren could have cleared his own name, assuming he was indeed innocent which appears to be highly debatable.

The only thing Lacy’s lawyer is getting out of this is free publicity. I don’t see where there is any money to be had.

Did Lacy have a large estate? I agree there’s no claim/money for them to sue anyone, but I could definitely see where his estate could be sued. Maybe his attorney is trying to save lacy’s estate money?
If anything, all of this news and publicity is making it clear to everyone that Lacy absolutely played a role in the wreck. Anybody that was thinking he had “nothing to do with this” now knows with 100% certainty that he indeed did. His own attorney is admitting so on every news station and has people analyzing a situation that only emphasizes that his client was driving recklessly.

1.) Significant if true. Be interesting if he can prove this. He obviously has no problem releasing things to the public, so he needs to provide the proof of this.
2.) This is 100% speculation. But the fact MULTIPLE eyewitnesses at the scene said “the green charger caused it” is very bad for Lacy’s case.
3.) So 10 minutes after witnessing a fatal car crash he possibly caused, he calls someone he knows personally, who happens to be a LAWYER, and the conservation had nothing at all to do with what just happened?
