Not speaking to any specific indcidents involving other teams ...

I have to say it is amazing how little trouble we have. We either keep fairly good discipline or we are AMAZING at sweeping things under the rug. I think it's the former becuase when smaller things do happen they still get out and we get blasted nationally. But think about our players' transgressions. Fighting (for which 20% of all male students could probably get arrested at some point in their college career), weed, a couple alleged domestic issues which weren't pretty, but that's about it. When have we had something felony weapons charges?

I'm sure the rant will still say that Les has lost control.

Nice jinx. I pucker up every off season. All kidding aside, I do feel like he does a very good job. It is not an easy one to keep testosterone filled 17-22 year olds out of trouble.

Your math skills are a little askew...or you hung with the wrong crowd.

What kind of crowd do you hang out with if 20% of them have been in a fight? I ran across a lot of people in my 6 years of college (4 undergrad and 2 grad) and I am pretty sure that I did not know one single person involved in a bar fight, or any other fight to be honest. So 20% might be just a littttttttttle stretch.

A lil fighting never bothered me. Just don't sucker punching dudes.

I also understand you have 85 kids on scholarship and prob another 20 more or so not on scholly. You just can't keep tabs on all these people.

No, but you can bring good kids into your program who aren't going to go out and start shite. Easier said than done though. Sometimes you don't know what you have until they get to campus.

I think y'all are both exaggerating. 20% is a lot. And I'd say you prob only know a hand full of people if you don't know a single person that has been in a fight.

Hell I have brothers, we faught all the time. I don't know a single person that didn't fight with a sibling, as long as they were close in age.

If you are 18 I doubt you'd be fist fighting your 6 year old brother. But you get the point.

Funny, considering you posted it shortly after a news report broke about two players from a rival's team getting arrested and facing felony drug and weapons charges

I think the generalization of "I've never known anyone in a fight" refers to stuff that happens in public or with people that you aren't acquainted with....the type that might land you in jail. Fighting amongst brothers doesn't really fit here.

Speedy Noil, Gerald Willis, Hootie Jones. LSU dodged a bullet. Let's not forget LSU a long with a slew of other schools wanted these players.

with the profit LSU athletics (football) brings in, you most certainly can do whatever necessary to keep eyes on your talent. Sure, shite will happen, especially with young men, but that doesn't mean that you just sit back and plan for it to happen. You prevent it from happening...or, cover it up.

I always figured Coaches had to address things like not doing drugs, not taking money, not selling stuff etc...
I never thought coaches would have to tell their players not to carry stolen firearms.

Team Vote program would not be what it is today in college athletics without Les.

Also remember, we wanted Cam badly and recruited the shite out of him.

All joking aside, the program is pretty clean.
