If I was the cops I would sue Koy. I doubt they will, but if you drug my name around on false accusations I’d sue.

He didn’t have an opinion that people disagree with. He deliberately lied and nearly ruined the lives of several people.
And that's where I, against my gut, begin to moderate the consequences that Koy should face.

Lives were not ruined. They were no doubt harmed, interrupted, and affected (negatively). But not ruined.

So there was a process to verify and remedy the situation. Luckily, as is so rare today, the process was allowed to happen and, in this case, law enforcement found not to have violated policy or Koy's civil rights. So the process worked, which prevented outright ruination.

And that's what leads to me to my personal preferred consequences for Koy- he tried to short-circuit the process by making his claims on social media. So let the process continue and his punishment come from the justice system. If BRPD just wants an apology and a recomendation from them to the judge includes some community service in addition- fine. Let it end there. If a judge wants jail time and he can't maintain his position at LSU- fine, scholarship is void and he goes to jail.

But let him face a prosecutor and possibly a jury to decide what crimes he committed. And then a judge if deemed criminal in the sentencing.

Like the guy above said, if the cops were guilty he'd want them fired so the reverse should be true. But let Koy face the same process the cops faced to determine guilt... and ultimately innocence. The same process he lied to intentionally circumvent for a malicious outcome. Karma.

In my mind, big picture wise, I can't help but think of the others issues going on specifically the Title IX stuff. If schools weren't REQUIRED to replace law enforcement regarding sexual assault and law enforcement was responsible for enforcing laws much of this wouldn't have been an issue. Instead of tennis coaches hiding Title IX complaints you would have law enforcement investigating and possibly prosecuting sexaual assault claims.

So if what Koy did was a crime, let law enforcement do what they do FIRST. LSU should react secondly. Let the process work. If you intentionally circumvent it, don't complain when it doesn't work.

Lack of integrity doesn’t diminish his football skills, but I sure as hell would stay the hell away from him if I were his teammate.

The kid is a racist. We don't want racists on our team.

Normally I'd say it is a good teaching point, but he believes he's in the rt and others are wrong just on skin color.

No, man! He’s just a kid. We don’t need to punish him like he’s an adult. I do think he should go through sensitivity training just like a white person would have to go through in the reverse situation.

this is a good example of why we lag behind bama thinking. their fans worry about whether a player helps them win championships. our fans whine about this crap. you cant be the best and sacrifice good players even for good reason. cant be both.

Oh yes prosecuted just like the Karens and all with the calls to 911 that leads to BS interactions from police. When they start doing that then and only then can u prosecute Koy.

Society, culture, and the media has said to this kid that it’s ok to make these type of accusations and the public will believe you. He is basically a product of that culture. We are seeing that with all the police incidents. It’s a blame the police mentality before any evidence can be presented. Personal responsibility doesn’t exist anymore. No one is willing to take blame for their part in any police confrontation. It’s always someone else’s fault.

If they lied and tried to ruin other people’s lives over a lie then absolutely. It’s fake arse stories like this that take away from the actual injustice that happens and makes them harder to believe. You choose to see what you want to see. You’d swear unarmed black people were getting killed by police last year in droves, whenever it was only actually 10, and most of them were assaulting the officers or trying to take their weapon. It’s setting a dangerous precedent.

What he did was shitty snd pathetic. It’s awful and he should be punished but just slow down on throwing the kid away

No offense, but stop telling people that we shouldn't "throw the kid away" when his action was false accusations against police officers just doing their job.

He is a grown man. Stop calling him a kid. People are losing their livelihoods for simple tweets using a word, while these athletes are being allowed to make horrible and potentially life affecting false accusations of people to ruin their careers.

Kid should lose his scholarship. Stupid actions have consequences, and he needs to be made an example of.

Straight from the Michael Bennet playbook.

Local police should refuse to work football games until Koy offers a written apology that is acceptable to the real victims (the cops).
