quote:

I read the tea leaves that Orgeron is ready to take significant risks to keep his job and he is willing to try a hyper-up tempo pace on offense, to see if it makes a difference.

Offense goes 3-Out in 65 seconds. You can’t run uptempo in max protect with two WRs it’s plus into the defense’s hands. Now our defense is back on the field with a very weak back 7 where everyone struggles to tackle and teams can run on us? Don’t forget, our defense struggles to keep up the level of play as the game goes on and now you want to tire them out? Ed has some loose marbles….

This will be Orgeron’s undoing. Uptempo helps when you have an offensive identity and you’re going against an aggressive defense. Speeding everything up just seems like a disaster for a team that struggles with basic concepts like blocking schemes.

If he is in fact wanting radical change, he knows his job is on the line, IMO.

Agree that it is high risk.
But from Da Coach O's perspective, doing nothing new is high risk.

The new-and-improved Tigers? Goodness gracious, there ain't nothing new-and-improved about Orgereon's coaching. It's quite simple and easy to explain. Burrow's gone.

It ain't like we're talking about a Burger king chicken sandwich here.

Yes, we all saw it at UCLA. The seemingly non-existence of half-time adjustments was demoralizing.

True.
And a sad statement at that.

Is Dellinger's shoulder all 100% and he's starting?

If CMU makes it a close game, (Or a Miami Ohio-UAB-Troy miracle upset unfolds into reality) he may get on the team bus after the game and fly back to Michigan with them.
