This was really a demand from Kim?
Agree, hard to imagine. I do know the new arena is a big deal that is supposed to be moving forward.

Sounds like Baylor fans trying to spin it.

Maybe so and without need. Kim is a legend at Baylor and had a chance to come home at a good time for her family.
Maybe it’s that simple. I’m shocked she left Baylor but this isn’t Kim’s first day in this world. Only she really knows why.

BeYou - you have no idea what you are writing about. You were not there for a first hand account of the meeting. You are merely repeating fabricated stories from a Baylor sports board. In my initial post, I told the true and correct story. Ask anyone in Waco if I would be the one to know these facts and 90% will tell you that I am the person most likely to have knowledge about these facts.
It has been known for some time that most loyal Lady Bear backers wanted Kim's name on the Court. That was true. However, at no time during the meeting with the AD did Kim demand that her name be put on the new basketball court.
I am not sure of your agenda, but I know all of the parties involved and what you wrote, and are writing, is simply false. Repeating fabricated rumors does nothing for Baylor or LSU. I am truly sorry that Baylor lost a great coach and, at the same time, I am very excited that LSU is getting one of the top WBB coaches of all-time.
Why don't you stop by my office on Baylor's campus sometime this week and we can discuss in person Kim's antics and demands even the ones not listed. Once again -I wish Kim the absolute best. If Baylor isn't winning national championships - I hope it's her at LSU. Email me at BeYouBears at Gmail to schedule a meeting.

Nah, it would be a waste of time to try to “debate” someone like you judging by your various posts in the same way I wouldn’t try to teach Calculus to a 2nd grader. Take care, and have the day you deserve.

Will do. I will copy Mack and Linda on the email so they will be aware of what you are writing on an LSU fan bulletin board. I am sure they will be impressed.

You two should just do it right and meet at Sonic.

That’s called having no chest. Good night, ma’am.

The posts about Coach Mulkey here and on Baylor message boards are an embarrassment to your entire fan base.

I was listening to KRZI 1660AM out of Waco and the program director said Mulkey wouldn’t have left had the Men’s team lost the National Championship Game.
I’m not sure how those two correlate, but it’s interesting if true. I lost the station before I could get his explanation on that.
If true, and had we known, we all would have been rooting for Baylor against Gonzaga on April 5.

The arena thing I believe, that's been discussed. Now you have Mulkey throwing temper tantrums to AD and Prez back to back about court naming and other nonsense? And they're arguing amongst each other to boot.
I fully believe she wanted a voice and earned it. Baylor fans throwing her under the bus is ridiculous and they should be ashamed. I wish Aranda luck, I hope they don't treat him the same way if he has success there.
Seems fitting though for Baylor unfortunately. LSU has it's own issues for sure, but Jesus, the delusion displayed by Baylor is mind-numbing.

I believe the arena location was something promised by the previous AD. Either way, so what if she had a strong opinion on where it should be located? I believe the rumors about wanting her name on the court to be pure bullshite. Even if true, airing out such dirty laundry in the wake of your longtime coach leaving is... distasteful, petty, childish.
I’ve no doubt she is abrasive and can be considered “difficult” but what highly successful coach isn’t? The amount of negative posting about Mulkey made by Baylor fans across the internet comes across as a serious case of sour grapes. It’s almost like there’s a script followed by all those posters mentioning the same rumors then pointing out how their WBB program lost 6M a year. Welcome to women’s sports! And they surely weren’t touting that line before their men’s bb program decided to show up. Some go so far as to say they don’t need Mulkey or WBB now that MBB is successful.
And the delusion that their facilities and monetary investment will make her replaceable is astounding. It’s not like a coach of her caliber is on every corner. I’m sure they will hire a good coach but they won’t be replacing Mulkey any time soon.

I was in the boat that there was no way LSU would dish out any significant money to get a Mulkey to LSU in a sport that loses money. At the end of the day, it's not my money, and not my problem to worry about though. I watched women's hoops when Pokey had them rolling, and I'll likely be interested enough to watch if Mulkey makes them contenders again.
It's a great hire. Don't see why anyone would be pissed about it, with the exception of Chinyo's racist arse.
I too was in the boat that didn't believe LSU would EVER spend the money to pry her away from Baylor with that $2.2 million/year salary. Clearly I was wrong and glad I was! But at this time, the hire makes sense. Big time hire and will generate a regeneration of the interest in the program we had through 2007.

Don't matter what the Lady Tigas do really. This is a gigantic PR win for LSU and it was needed.

I would be surprised if Pointer returned now that her aunt is gone. I hope she does but not expecting it.
If Kim wants her to stay why wouldn't she? Why not learn under one of the best point guards in NCAA history , especially if she has aspirations of the WNBA?
