WBB is a drain on the AD budget.

And has a huge impact on the university. How many millions of social media influences do they get during these runs? How much air time does the school get? It’s a value well north of whatever they are spending.

They lost 10.8 MM. there were no donations to cover it. It is what it is. They lost that much money. No way around it. People are stupid if they believe otherwise.

Well first, it wasn’t that much. You’re off by a couple million. Also, there actually is a way around it. A big chunk of money they help bring in doesn’t show up in their column on the spreadsheet.

It was 8+ the difference between the 2 WBB and Men’s was 10 MM.
they aren’t bringing in anything. The money to fund the entire operation including ticket sales, merch, etc is included in those losses. The operation costs a lot more than what they lost obviously.

I’m not saying they are running a profit. I’m saying the losses aren’t as bad as they look because media rights money that comes in because of women’s basketball is grouped with the other sports outside of football and men’s basketball.

Tech women's basketball was going to eventually die anyway. Even if Kim had stayed there, there was going to come a time when Tech couldn't afford her and she would gone somewhere else bigger.

What if I told you the practice players flew on the charter with the team AT NO ADDITIONAL EXPENSE since there were seats to spare? Then what?

I agree with you. I also think she would have won a natty or two there and left it in great shape for the next coach. Lady T’s have been wondering in the desert for some time now.

JimTiger72; we giving $8 M to men’s basketball. I’d rather lose 8 to CKM and watch the woman make a serious run to the final four.

I thought this thread was about her clown costumes she wears to games or the fact she’s Kramer’s mom.

Y’all griping about money.

So gymnastics which draws as much or more than WBB? One could argue WBB pulls them down.

Are you contributing monetarily through TAF or directly to LSU Athletics?

The media rights deal is over half based on women’s basketball. Gymnastics is a much much smaller piece of the pie after college baseball.

Ehhhh…Depends on how much Davidson likes Women’s Basketball honestly.
