With the run of injuries our staff has had, he may stay up out of necessity, that said if Bundy were healthy, KG would still be in Bowie.

He basically is 1-3 since he did pitch 6 innings with 1 ER.

He's just had 2-3 bad innings. He looks good most of the time and will be just fine.

No. You were given shite because you said that gausman wouldn't get called up this year, and then a couple hours later it was announced that he was getting called up.

AAA is for players going down, not coming up.

I said he shouldn't get called up because he wasn't ready yet. And then hours later he gets called up. Now he's getting rocked, but he'll shake it off eventually. I have no doubt about that.

And I was right about him not being ready. Guess I should run the O's front office now huh?

It'd be one less team in the division to worry about, so sure.

Buck Showalter knows what he is doing. Best manager in baseball..

KG will survive this....might go down in a few weeks and then back up to finish the season....big jump to the show...will find out what he needs to work on in the off season...

Wishing him all the best...

I'm curious, why do players jump from AA to the majors, wouldn't it make sense to try AAA first?

Guy I know from high school had this happen to him last year. He is a reliever but his ERA is around 2.00 this year. I think injuries have more to do with it....but it kind of makes you wonder about their guys in AAA if they are calling up a AA guy.

Most teams have their best prospects in AA. AAA is where the journeymen and what not play. You usually see more talent in AA.

IMO he was not called up too soon. The Orioles need to find out if he can handle the adversity that comes with losing in the big leagues.. His stuff is electric, he's just learning how to pitch at the highest level in one of the toughest divisions in baseball. He will be fine.

If he would have been on any other team, he would have never been called up in Ben McDonald-like time. The Orioles, however, are a total offensive club that is desperate for pitching. They cannot pull a big trade now so they thought KG was worth a shot. I saw him pitch vs. Blue Jays in his debut and I have seen worse. He'll be fine...needs to find an out pitch that isn't a 97 mph fastball. Trevor Bauer, former UCLA stud, is having worse luck than Gausman and he's had 2 seasons in and out of majors.

A big part of it is that the teams he has played against thus far have had some ridiculous sluggers. He pitched like a boss against Detroit though, the problem was that he got very little run support.

The other night they played the Rays, and he gave up 8 runs, but Baltimore ended up getting blanked. Not much you can do about that, and it wasn't until the 5th inning that he got rattled. I would say that when he gets his first win, he will start to roll.

AAA is full of older players that will never make the majors. AA is where all the viable prospects are. They may play a few weeks at AA before being called up but it's becoming less common.

Right. Fear and ignorance.
