It’s called home-field advantage if something that you run into when you play on the road

It probably was actually. Whole dynamic of second half changes if LSU has a halftime lead. It was a bullshite call.

I understand that, but we have every opportunity to win that game, even with the call.

Sure did! Horrific, one sided officiating and still had a chance to win.

Terrible call and you don't make calls depending on down, distance and location. Once forward progress is stopped whistle is blown. Period. That's like not calling pass interference because it was the last play of the game on a hail mary. PI is PI no matter when and where it occurs.

I was expecting when I saw it to be more clear that forward progress was stopped but I didn’t see that. Am I the only one? No I’m not a Kentucky fan.

Minchey had enough time to have a cookout while laying on top of other players short of the goal line

It has to be blown dead. In no world would the refs let a LB hold up a RB for that long, without blowing the whistle.

And if someone comes in and pops the shite out of him him they say the play was dead and throw a flag for personal foul.

It was bad but it at least could be argued. Two worst no calls in the game were the no calls on block in the back on the punt return and the no call false start in OT.

It would not have been a TD in TS. That is how corrupt the SEC officials are. They don't want to be booed by the home crowd.

In an honest game, the play was stopped, the official was already running in from the sideline short of the goal line. But after a couple of second of being stopped, a final push by a couple of other players got the ball over the goal line. It is simply the worst rule in college football and gives way too much leeway to the line judge officials to determine when the play is dead.
I still don't understand why the defense isn't allowed the same ability to push a offensive player back as far as they can if they can keep him off the ground and let that be the final mark of the ball. Why just the offense....stupid rule

Can you show us a time where this has happened to LSU in Tiger Stadium, ever in the history of life?

I don't think I have ever seen a goal line push go that long before.

You get your initial surge, and then maybe another surge, but I've never seen the initial and the second surge stopped, and then the offensive players just keep shoving the ball carrier into the endzone without the forward progress being called.

That play is literally unstoppable if you just allow the offense to shove forever.

This

and factor in the multiple missed blocks in the back on the PR and that’s quite a swing in points.

Now we absolutely should have still beat them but it’s ok to acknowledge the officiating was horrid and played a role in the loss

81 should have been called for a penalty on that play for grabbing Minchey. There are two rules related to this play.

Rule 4-2-3(a) - When a ball carrier is so held that their forward progress is stopped. When in question, the ball is dead.

Rule 9-3-2(b) - The ball carrier shall not grasp a teammate; and no other teammate shall grasp, pull, or lift the ball carrier to assist in forward progress.

After his momentum was stopped, 81 literally grabbed his jersey and pads to lift him up and push him across the goal line. Refs should have blown it dead before that happened. Since they didn't, they still should have thrown a flag for grabbing the ball carrier and assisting him forward.

How are you arguing this

Another way of thinking about it is Minchey didn’t actually score by his own effort. His three or four teammates behind him pushed him in.

How is that different from a teammate dragging someone into the end zone? That’s not legal, neither is that touchdown.

I watched that a few more times.

First, I’m not convinced his knee didn’t touch pretty early on, hadn’t noticed that before.

But more importantly, it looks like 81 grabbed the QB either on the collar or maybe even the back of his helmet…because when he digs in you can see the QBs head get pulled back.

It was an extremely dangerous play and could have gotten the QB severely injured. It should have not only been called dead, they should have been flagged
