Taking out the only running back that has shown any ability to break tackles when you get in the redzone is just a wild thing to do.

I think there’s an argument to be made for having Williams out there when you’re close to the goal line. He’s not going to beat everyone to the edge but he’s a downhill runner and he’s reliable on routes.

But outside of maybe the 3 yard line I’d rather have Durham in for sure.

Sounds eerily similar to Miles’ explanation of having different “packages” of plays for each running back. So an opposing DC knows what’s coming based on the personnel we have on the field.

The gadget plays for Bama was a Les Miles hallmark that has returned this year. Because you can only install new plays with 2 full weeks apparently.

There’s a TT influencer that literally has a series of videos about this. He dresses like an LSU coach and does his best to keep the more talented RB on the bench.

I get what you are saying. I'm not saying that Williams can't score from inside the 5 yard line, I just think Durham is more likely so I would rather him be in.

Kelly was specifically asked if there was an issue with Durham in this game and Kelly said no. He said Josh was in the game because he is more seasoned.

Well let's sprinkle som Chachere's on him and get him in the game!

You think Kelly determines who goes in for certain plays? Wilson is the guy who puts in the Backs.
If I am the head coach and I see Williams trotting out on the opening drive I am shouting over to put Durham in.

Durham did go in the opening drive. That's when he had his long run. Durham can't play the whole game. Actually, when he got up from the run it looked like he was kind of limping again.

Our RB situation was destroyed by Holly's situation, Emory injury, and the inability of Jackson to develop.

We only have Durham - thank god - and Williams we can depend on. Again, Durham can't play the whole game especially with his injury.

Might as well just give opposing defneses our playbook

I think Durham got hurt on that long run, so I understand why he was taking out during that series. But, he does need to see the field in the red zone a lot more.

I think they just trust Williams more in the red zone. Hell, I joked during the first game of the year that Collins should have a package when we get in the red zone because Nussmeier seems too boxed in in the red zone.

Now, I don't think that is a joke. It would give the offense another run option in the red zone. Kind of like Miles did with Ryan Perriloux during one season. And, it would shock the hell out of the opponents.

Offensive line. I don’t care who’s running the ball, we know they can hit a hole and get 4-7 yds if there is a hole…..I see RBs on other teams walk into towns zone from 2-3 yards out, when was the last time we saw that with the Tigers?

I would take The 2019 Coach O any day over BK.

So we are telling the other teams what we run by our rb personnel. Got it. Maybe that’s why it looks like teams know what we are running

And everyone here during the game said he was hurt.

So is he just like O as a sideline cheerleader? Acts like he has no input into the decisions, calls, or personnel

Not sure what you are bitching about here. Head coaches may override personnel at times, but it’s pretty typical for the position coaches to handle rotations that happen in a game. Faulk was doing this under O. People bitched about the rotations then, too. Pretty sure Frank did it under Miles, as well.

It seems blatantly obvious to all that watch that there is a pattern of Durnham ripping off huge runs and then 18 coming in in the redzone. It was like the first time he was ever made aware that this happens.

Did you miss the Arkansas game? Durham had 3 rushing TDs and was in on most of the red zone possessions in that game. The key question that most of you can’t seem to grasp is what’s different between now and then? He was already injured, but he played 2/3 of the snaps in that game and ran well.

Maybe Kelly doesn’t want to say he’s still hurting and that’s why they are limiting him. THAT is what you don’t want the opposing DC banking on this week, more than talking about rotations. Just a theory.

I think he is still nursing an injury. He was run down from behind on the first big run. Prior to his injury he scores that 10/10

He came out for several plays after. The exact same thing happened after his big reception at A&M. He didn’t play for most of the next 2 drives.

Williams has been productive in the past. He’s not been productive this year.

Williams and Diggs both averaged over 5 ypc…but they were also both sharing the backfield with Daniels. That makes a HUGE difference.
