Ok ok, so 10 wins in the regular season is the floor. Got it.

If Nuss is ready and plus we’ll great, but I dont Love playing for next year.

Play to win.

Of course, but sometimes it makes sense. When I was in high school, a rival school had a really talented group of freshmen starting high school when I did to play football. They all started day 1 and although they got pushed around freshmen and sophomore year, they had state championship runs as juniors and seniors.

We have minimal chance of major success and wins this year

The Covid year didn’t apply towards eligibility at all. So he could absolutely apply for a med RS for last season.

He could apply but he has told everyone this is it. He’s about to get married and move onto whatever is next.

Yes, minimal chance of major success, is probably right.
But there is also a significant chance of failure, by LSU standards and by the standards expected of $100 million coaches.
Last I heard our over/ under on wins was abr. 7 in LV.
Neither LSU nor Kelly can afford a 6 win (or less) season and maybe not even a seven win season.
Kelly will play his best QB in game 1 and will do so until substantial success (however defined) is assured.

Your opinion is based on a false premise that it's "major success" or build for next year.

8 wins is much more valuable to Kelly than 6. He'd take 8 with Brennan over 6 with one of the others.

He'd take 9 with Brennan over 7 with the others.

And, the more important point is that, if none of these guys look better than Brennan (who isn't an elite QB by anyone's analysis), then none of those guys will be the clear cut selection come September.

But if they were talented there is no telling the couldn’t have had state runs anyway.

One RS, one medical RS, one Covid year. Should be eligible for next year right? Unless he didn’t get a medical for last year yet

A student-athlete cannot request a waiver for an additional year of eligibility based upon medical reasons until after all eligibility has been exhausted. Then that waiver request is sent to an eligibility panel to determine the merits of said request. So, at present there is no "medical redshirt" in calculating Brennan's eligibility.

With the 2021 injury having nothing to do with football, I highly doubt that a waiver for an extra year of eligibility would be granted by the NCAA.

Think of the decision Ohio State made the spring of 2018. They went with Dwayne Haskins over Joe Burrow because Haskins had three years available [where Burrow only had two] despite them being neck and neck and Burrow besting Haskins in the Spring Game.

How did that work out for Ohio State? Ironically, Haskins was gone by 2019 and we all know what Burrow did at LSU. In the meantime, Justin Fields comes in a wins the 2019 Ohio State start at QB. Ohio State returns once again as the Bridesmaid, but its been a long time since they've been the Bride . . .

Brennan probably is best QB now but you have to have a 2-3 year objective
Breaking in new starter next year is not good when you look at overall team that returns
And what if Howard wins the job next year? Or Dante comes to town? I don't see him red shirting. Do those count as breaking in a new QB?
I gotta think he goes with who he thinks will win the most games. If that changes in the middle of the year then so be it.

Then Nuss should have played in the bowl game.

That would put two years between him and Howard.

LOL...Your logic is ill-logical!!! Winning is #1 and Brennan has shown he can win....and will win.
Daniels will never see the field. Nuss will get the call if Miles is hurt.

I do not see him worried about anything but putting the best team on the field.

If it is MB then so be it. Love Nuss and think he has more of the "IT" factor but the shape of this program when BK took over is going to take a year or two to have the depth needed to complete at a high level in the best conference in the NCAA.
