I think a lot of these mistakes should have been corrected before the first game. Kelly is getting paid crazy money to make sure these kind of things don't happen. really hoping he can get this stuff fixed or it's going to be a LONG season.

these mistakes
I get a few times blowing past the QB, but repeated was a problem.

Also mentioned the word “recognize” with respect to Daniels 4 times

I'm still pretty shocked at 16 times. that is a big problem.

Most of these missed tackles are forced misses and can’t just be fixed. Credit should be given to Jordan Travis for being quick and elusive.
This was the saving grace in the game. The quickness of FSU compared to the big LSU DL. Can’t coach speed.
Speed and heart blocked the PAT as well. Could have coached blocking better, but FSU was extremely fast to the point of impact.

Maybe half. Most of the time, the defender was running in way too fast and not breaking down. If they played with discipline Travis would have been sacked 4-5 times and had a ton of throw aways.

I realize it’s a different scheme but I will never understand why coaches don’t do exactly what Chavis did against Johnny Manziel when facing a mobile, elusive QB.

I was more irritated with Jay Ward running around trying to shoulder tackle 260 lbs tight ends more than I did us not getting to Travis.

There were a lot. Three potential sacks at least.

Our guys were flying to ball and making hits, just couldn't wrap up.

Travis actually balled out. Used his legs to open up the pass. Very Burrow-esque.
Frustrating game where all the cards fell the other way.
I still think this is a good team that gets better every game and beats some teams they shouldn't. Probably lose some they shouldn't also.

Well Gaye sure caught him - after he had already released the ball

I saw 4 huge missed sacks from these guys - would've been 6+ yard losses. You HAVE to tackle. hoping we practice it this week

I knew we had some because we were getting penetration all night but didn't realize it was 16, wow.

The magical step forward has always fooled lsu players and wil always fool lsu players

There were at least 2-3 I can vividly remember where he was dead to rights, and tossed our guy off like a ragdoll then chucked it downfield for 20 yards.

Defensive line destroyed FSUs offensive line for a good portion of the game, but the linebackers just couldn't take af advantage. It's tough to ask DTs and DEs to sack an extremely mobile QB at this level.

I think this is one of the things that improves from game one to game two. Getting used to tackling in game conditions helps.
