We have the 3rd ranked class coming in 2025. Possibly #1 when it's all over.

Let's think about your statement a little bit before we get our "little girl" feelings in the way.

Hmmmm......can you say mass exodus from that draft class?

how many of Nick’s players were on the 2011 SEC title team?

lost to Wisconsin, Auburn a couple times blew a 21 point lead to Tennessee

Saban lost a few to Auburn too.
Blew a 4 TD lead in one of them.

if you people would look past your blind hatred for even a moment you would realize even the best coach in the history of the sport has moments like this.

Les 's win percentage was pretty elite while here.

i agree 100%!

but that is not my argument. my argument was simply who was the best coach here. not who had the most wins. but you knew that.

Our teams just do not come to play the right way without a warmup game.

We made some mistakes, clearly. But that was a very high level 1st game of the season between 2 very good teams. I kept telling my son during the game, “this is some really high level football being played in this game in general. But especially for a 1st game with 2 1st year starters at QB and both teams replacing their DCs (and OC for us).”

I heard Jacob Hester and Matt Flynn say the same thing today. Hester said he does a Tuesday show with Jimbo and he said it was an incredibly high level 1st game with the best QB play he saw all weekend from both guys save for maybe Miami’s. And I’ve heard other national guys with no skin in that matchup marvel on just how good a game that was. Again, period. But especially for a Week 1 game.

So I disagree that we weren’t prepared to play. We absolutely were. The was nowhere near the FSU games. Our coaches and players made a couple of bad plays/calls/decisions that would have been completely overlooked had we won or if the game hadn’t been as close. Riley and USC were very well prepared to, but they also made mistakes that we either didn’t take advantage of or they got great luck by not turning it over.

But at the end of the day, I thought both teams were well prepared and played very well. Our coaches weren’t perfect, but nobody ever is. And I don’t every loss has to have someone to “blame,” though I get that’s the emotional tendency that I’m certainly not immune to myself. But sometimes players on 1 team just simply make more plays than the others at critical positions. And USC’s QB and WRs made them when they had too.

And few people on here are rational enough to comprehend this, but giving reasons why we lost is not the same as making excuses.

This ridiculous whining and complaining about losing a game has gotten to be an ugly excuse for supposedly impassioned fans to expose deeply harbored unfair resentment.

Yeah another season opener lost. We should have won, let me point out the ways and, by God, who is responsible is like some perverse right of passage now.

It wasn’t always like this on this sight. Rant all you like but what I’m reading these days is just sad and is NOT what sports should be like.

Mods. You deleted the last thread I said this in 20 minutes ago because it was such a stupid topic so I say again. Can we please ban stupid people from making topics? Not a full ban, let the idiots post, but don't allow them to post topics anymore after they make really garbage topics. It's a really good idea that will clean things up and maybe we won't even need the score board on game day anymore. Think about it mods.

And you think Miles never did that? Lol

Les Miles won SEC and National Titles...........with Nick Saban’s players, he also lFGost to Wisconsin, Auburn a couple times blew a 21 point lead to Tennessee never crossed the 50 yard line versus Alabama in a national championship game. We can continue.

OK let's continue

Miles won SEC and played for natty without Saban players
I recall Saban was 2-3 vs Aub, Miles was 8-4
Miles was 1-1 vs Wisc
Miles was 4-1 vs UTk
LSU did cross the 50yd line on 1-9-12 before OL penalty backed them out of FG range.

Miles owned the LSU offensive record book by the time he left LSU, holding 3 and 4 of the top 5 all time spots (even passing categories). Check the 2017 LSU Media Guide prior to Joe rewriting history. books.

Never lost 3 straight openers though. And in fact, had a pretty unmatched out of conference record. I use to love the big time out of conference opener. Oregon, Virginia Tech, TCU, BYU we were bitch slapping teams and shouting SEC! SEC! SEC! Bring them on! Now i fricking hate them cuz we can’t win them and I hope we schedule UHigh to start. Problem is the BR media would probably really hype that game…and we know how BK performs in hyped games.

Absurd take. Kelly is a legit coach, and a proven winner. Just has had some trouble working through kinks at the beginning of seasons. We’ll be alright.

Don't understand the downvotes, so far Les is better. His teams came out on top of these early marque games most the time. That 05 Arizona St game comes to mind.

Look, he has at least two more seasons. If he doesn't get us to the SEC ship in those two, then I think he is done. Frankly, I feel like we could almost trade him to another school in some weird way and they'd take his contract off of our hands.

Saban created it, Miles stretched it, O had the perfect season and now BK is whatever he is and that is yet to be determined.

We win that game if he takes control of our offensive formations and play calling.

I'm surprised by the amount of downvotes. Les won a natty and we played in another. It was frustrating at times and it was time for him to go at the end.
I can't definitively say yet that Kelly is better or worse than Miles.

He also never had to play three straight openers against teams who finished ranked. He never had to play two straight openers against teams who finished ranked, either.

In fact, we only had 3 openers against teams who finished ranked during Miles’ entire LSU career. He went 2-1 in those games.

Oregon - only season opener vs. a legit team on your list (the other two during Miles’ tenure were Wisconsin).
Va Tech - not a season opener, though it was a legit OOC win.
TCU - finished 4-8 (2-7) unranked.
BYU - finished 4-9 unranked.

And y’all know who had the best college football team in the history of the sport? That’s right. The Shrimp Boat Captain from down on da bayou. Beat that Saban, Miles, and Kelly.
