Zero creativity, no roll outs with a fast run threat QB, slow getting play calls in with time running out, runs straight up the gut. I saw the scheme even with the poor O-line play and it sucked.
Worth noting that Daniel's accuracy goes to shite on the move.

The lack of roll outs, with a pass option, is intentional.

It's binary with Daniels... set and throw or run. And that works for him from what I saw. If he'd just improve that short range accuracy/touch last night would be way different for him, and the team.

But the lack of accuracy when on the move and the accuracy problems when having to adjust mechanics to throw to the flat are pretty much the same thing and he will likely struggle with it all year.

Coach seriously misjudged thinking the #7 could get him straight.

This whole #7 and #18 crap is a joke! Where a number and play hard. That WR from Tx Tech sucked and our All American KB is playing like a All American Punk/Cry Baby

Do away with it now! Give him back #1 and if he pouts and does not practice like the coaches want him to, send him packing. We gutted the walls and sheet rock, but we forgot the insulation or may have to even replace some studs

He’s not proving himself on the field

Recent history has shown he doesn’t need to ‘prove’ anything else. He already has enough film in the can to get drafted pretty high. Guys like this (and there are many, in fact several from LSU who are making huge money in the NFL after ‘opting out’ too) feel like they are doing their school a favor by hanging around at all. It’s an attitude that will become more and more prevalent in the era of NIL and unrestricted transfers and ‘free agency’.

This is college football now.

Lol this is stingley all over again. Once everyone has soured on a guy, the worst is assumed, and parroted as truth by the next guy. It’s sad. I saw him encouraging nabors after the second muffed punt. He hasn’t quit.

Exactly, that was my point. Boutte looked sharp on that motion play to move the chains, he had a great foot drag on the sidelines on the last drive. Those are not the signs of a guy who quit, it's the sign of someone coming off injury, needing to lose a couple of pounds and get back dialed in and focused. He's too damn good to be receiving this utter hate from LSU fans.

If he isn’t bought in at this point kick him off the team. This season isn’t about wins and losses. It’s about establishing the process and any player that isn’t on board can leave.

Hit it on the head!

Haha
He was “bought in” because he has to play to get his NLI money.

Without that good chance he either did not play this year or would have gone to a championship contender like Georgia or Bama to chase a ring like the cornerback

We have seen too much of the primadonna bullshite from Miles and Orgeron's tenures to let a "talented" player wreck the locker room with quitter/opt out/transfer nonsense.

If he doesn't or won't buy in, punt his arse off the team.

If he didnt want to be here and was "gone" like yall assume he was, you really think he would give a shite about the number 7? Because Id say he'd make plenty of money anywhere. And you know what? none of that money was yours...so was it too high? get over it

I could totally understand sluggish play from him in game one due to coming off that injury and playing at game speed for the first time.

But, his body language also sucked. Can’t blame coming off an injury for that.

And I assume a lot of the hate is based on him attempting to pull a Ricks in the off season while the program had already taken a lot of hits. Combine that with his performance, it’s understandable people are skeptical.

Yeah, I'm thinking it was more "frustration" than "quit". No, he didn't have a good game and he left 2 TDs on the field. No, he wasn't dialed in.

But he didn't start the game that way. He fought for a touch catch in the cornder of the endzone. A great WR hauls that in... but a quitter just runs out the back of the endzone. And he fought off that CB from getting nudged out of bounds for the last 10 yds. It was a physical play.

I think the double coverage got to him leading to that frustration, more like "resignation". I think he was mad at himself. Now, granted, he needs to fix that to be a great WR. He can't let that take him out of his game like he did. But that's a different thing than quitting.

As for social media- I for one wish he and all the others would stay off it anyway. Too much distraction, too much politics, Ryan Clark is probably DM'g him, and too many of us to irritate the shite out of him. I read nothing into that.

Let the coaches decide who does or doesnt "buy in" and quit creating a false narrative of a kid in college, just to feel better about yourself after a loss

He should’ve given us clues about special teams too

If you’re gonna call out players in press conferences then call out coaches too about how horrible we looked on special teams and OL

Every time Kelly was asked about Boutte during the off season, he was very measured with his responses and gave the impression that Boutte was

He also said they were 4 deep at linebacker and that was a lie.

I don't know if he wss feeding bullshite or if he truly believes what he was saying.

if Boutte catches those two touchdown this board would be calling Daniels the second coming of Vince Young.

They need to make the 7 and 18 number history. Seems like whoever is anointed does not workout.

Boutte was not engaged and looked like he wanted to be there. He drops a td he normally would catch. Did not get the ball on the pass and then the next play the pass hits him and he was not even looking. 2 TD's. He needs to commit to being all in or go focus on preparing for the draft.

I agree but calling out players is now the reality of modern college football. The players are now in reality semi-pros. They are getting paid just like the coaches. So calling out players and coaches now is fair game in the new world of college football.

But to be fair to Kelly he did say we need to look at ourselves as coaches and be critical of ourselves in how we coached. So he did put it on himself.
