West did earn a Bama offer a week before he camped at LSU. Iirc he had mainly been looked at as a DL prior to that point in time. He definitely has the size to play this year, maybe the mental side and technique will come quickly. He could easily start the season as #2

LSU will get him. Book it. The Bordelons from down the bayou bleed purple and gold.

Turners athleticism stands out to me. He seems to struggle with the easiest part of the job though, snapping the ball

Rim was a little bigger than that and he played in the late 70s.

I have a hard time trusting Charles Turner at center weighing only 285 going against some of the high end nose tackles or 1 techniques he’ll see in this league

I have the same concerns but he is up to 295 now so summer did him some good

Some of the better centers in the NFL weigh less than 300. You need quickness and a more cerebral player rather than a guy that's over 300 lbs.

Nick Mangold was one of the better ones in recent memory and his weight was around 290 - 300.

As long as he is stronger at the point of attack than Shanahan, he will be an upgrade. Shanahan lived in our own backfield.

So it’s official, Kardell Thomas is a bust

It looks that way. Do y’all think it was bad evaluation, poor leadership from coached (Cregg —oof), or lack of drive from the kid?

A big part is lack of competitive drive/discipline. He has the same bad top heavy build that he had when he got here, after the staff change he's still 350. Knew a guy that could see the o line area very well and said Kardell spent the entire game staring off into space, oblivious to what's going on, even when other bench guys were up into mid game adjustments. This was a while back but it was clear KT wasn't giving a F during the game

Sounds like they want dellinger in the mix at center.

Crazy thing is they really have about 8 or 9 guys fighting for spots.

I love the competition.

I could see him getting reps in cupcakes then starting by end of the year. He's a quick moving boulder.

Big fan of west. Still think it's takes him a yr on canpus.

I just don't seeing turner starting at center. That isn't going to work imo.

I like Martinez or Dellinger to win the competition at C

Martinez is 340.

Seems like dellinger will get a shot.

I still like dellinger at rt or guard but he might just be the answer at center. He is very smart.

Lack of drive is #1.

Then bad nutrition and body composition.

Kelly did specifically mention Dellinger at C and G but didn't mention him at Tackle at all, don't think he will be playing T this year. He did say both Frazier and Bradford could play RG and RT. They are practicing at both spots so Dellinger C Bradford G Frazier T or Dellinger C Frazier G Bradford T seem like real possibilities on the right side
