Two weeks until “early” national signing day, we all know that’s basically the new official day as 80%-90% sign on dec 15. I would much rather have Coach Kelly hit the ground running on the recruiting trail.
This will be the first phase of recruiting for Kelly. The next will be solidifying this roster through the transfer portal.

This game doesn't matter. Jesus, I say the guy should get to coach ONE glorified scrimmage and people think I'm part of the "one of us" crowd.
What it ultimately boils down to is I'd just feel bad for the guy. Simple as that.

Coach Kelly is the Head Coach at LSU. I expect him to be the Coach for the bowl game. It's his team now. No need to fool around.
I wouldn't want anyone else to lead LSU from the moment he was hired.

Leaving the possibility open of BK coaching makes LSU an even more enticing participant which should put a 6-6 LSU team in the best possible bowl selection. It's pretty damn shrewd to not show the cards yet.

It did seem like he wanted to coach the bowl game. I wouldn't hate for him to be standing on the sideline talking with players and maybe putting his input into things.
I would say that I don't think he'd want to step on toes but hell I mean it's his team now. He should do what he thinks is best.

LSU should ask Kelly to coach it and find a rent-a-win 7-5 teams to pair up with bowl. Get a win as a springboard for the spring.

Thats cool and all and you’re entitled to your opinion I’m not trying to make you sound dumb or anything. But the school “owes him” his salary. If it’s about people that we feel sorry for why not Faulk, Joseph, Raymond, or Jones coach it?
We literally owe the guy a salary and thats it. He chose to take the job when he did. If Kelly wants to keep him great. If Kelly doesn’t it’s his call. These are grown men in a billion dollar industry making 6-7 figure salaries. They know what the deal is.
Point is we don’t owe anyone shite besides what’s on their contract. If the new Coach wants davis to the game coach: fine. If he doesn’t that’s fine as well. No need for any of us to feel bad for anyone
