Agree. If you think he’s the best guy you roll him back out there. Have faith in people and they usually reward your loyalty

Man. I'd love to see him redeem himself, but I think this idea would end badly for everyone involved.

Supposedly Sage Ryan or the kid from St. Aug was in the mix to return punts in preseason. I'd give one of them a shot.
same here. on both statements.

Nabers is special, I want the ball in his hands often. But Polian is seriously risking his job on that one. That was terrible technique. It was as someone told him "nah, don't worry about it- just go field them like you would a tipped pass". I don't think you can re-train or de-program that in 20 hrs. of practice. Hell, just jet sweep him a couple times a game to make up for him. He'll probably puke if you put him back there again. For all our sakes, including his, keep him completely off the punt team.

Just like it seems the FG team was told "just block like it was a CB blitz, don't do anything special".

It might be like Jarrett Lee at QB in 2008. Might haunt him forever

Thanks. Didn't know his number and couldn't remember his name. Just remembered he was the kid from St. Aug.

Malik was touted by the staff from the minute he stepped on campus. Last season he was hurt, but got opportunities the last few games. He had the drops. That’s understandable for a true freshman getting his first action.

Now, it’s his second year and he muffs a punt? Okay, maybe it was a fluke. But with the game on the line, in the final minutes, he muffs another? Malik Nabers has a problem with showtime. I’d bench him as PR, leave him at WR, and wait until he shows about a three game streak of perfect hands before I put him at PR again.

I’d go with Jaray - guy has shown solid hands for a while now.

I’d agree. He probably won’t make the same mistakes in another game. He put his hand on the hot stove twice…I think he’ll be reliable moving forward.

No offense to the kid but he clearly got the yips.

You can't have him back there and he does it again to lose an SEC game. He's a liability, let him return kicks but not punts

I actually think it's the technique they've taught him. Dont recall ever seeing someone try to field a punt that way.

Oh for fricks sake, you really think Boutte is the answer at PR? And you really think calling him a head case at this point is off the mark?

Didn't get to see much on punt returns but from what I saw on kick returns, I don't know if he's the guy for that.

I wouldn’t let him return anymore. Tell him to ball out at receiver and forget about it. Maybe give him one shot when we’re up big on SU to get his confidence back but he’s got the yips. There have to be other guys that can do it this season.

I think he didn't practice catching wobbly end over end punts. only practiced "punts" coming from the juggs machine.

that makes a HUGE difference.

He caught every pass that was thrown to him on Sunday, including multiple on the last drive.

This doesn’t make sense considering there is no correlation between those two things.

I don’t care if we put Emery Jones back there. Just put someone who can waive for a fair catch and catch the ball. That’s it.

I remember when Ally Broussard fumbled in his first game … Saban reportedly made him walk around with the ball for like a week. Lol.
