Kayshon first Patriot draft pick to agree to terms

Id have signed that thing with quickness to if I was him.

He's lucky to even be drafted.

Hopefully, he works hard and gets back on track.

There’s a ton of opportunity on the depth chart if he can stay healthy and get his head on straight. He says his foot is fully healed now after still having a broken bone in it for the combine. It’s insane he’s still only 20 years old.

Still more money than I will ever make.
Hope he enjoys himself, spoils that kid, and busts his arse for that next contract.

four-year, $4.027 million rookie deal

Barely afford a 1BR studio in Cambridge for that cash. Hopefully, he's saving his money.

After getting the call in the sixth round, Kayshon Boutte became the first New England Patriots draft pick to get under contract.

The former LSU wide receiver signed his four-year, $4.027 million rookie deal on Thursday, as detailed by PatsCap’s Miguel Benzan and KPRC 2’s Aaron Wilson.

The agreement includes a $187,274 signing bonus along with a 2023 base salary of $750,000.

Helps to have a good agent.

If he can get on track again, he will be the biggest steal of the draft.

Man, could have gone from 6th to 1st round had he stayed. Wish him well, but there was so much left on the table here. Reminded me of Josh Reed with a bigger catch radius.

Not to get ahead of ourselves here but I have a feeling he’s going to go off for the Pats and everyone’s going to praise the Pats for taking a chance on him.

an agent has ZERO to do with his contract.

Rookie contracts are all slotted, and have been for years. Agent does virtually nothing for the rookie contract. Now, the agent is very important for the second contract.

Damn! A 6th round pick getting that type of deal! Well, if they are slotted, it's still a great deal for him, but he could have had a much bigger contract than that if he hadn't screwed around the last 2 seasons at LSU. Smh I hope he doesn't blow most of that money, let his parents save it up for him because as immature as he is he'll def blow it.

The government will take that much out per year, probably more.

If you take marginal tax bracketing into account, using 2022 brackets the amount he would owe on 937k is 308k …so would be left with 629k to spend and save.

Let’s say we do the same thing previous poster suggested and save 40% of that per year… that’s still 251,600 per year… just for your “investment fund”… at 25.

Marginal bracket system is interesting. After 216k per year as an individual, you are going to start paying a lot more tax than most people on everything over that.

After 540k you pay a lot more than most people… but your first $15k is taxed at the same rate as someone who only makes $15k per year (10%)… the next 45k at 12%… the next 30k at 22%… and so on, same for everyone.

yes, but also add in the 5% Mass income tax, so that's another $47k going to gov't. I don't know if there are any local taxes as well.

But we've also seen the tape from last season where it looks like he's scared to get hit.

Supposedly it's common for an injured leg to leave doubts in a player, after the injury is healed.
