You know who else is heading to a 2nd straight elite 8? Arkansas. With a coach that had been at LSU and would have been a great hire in 2017 or even 2019 if we had fired Wade when all this first started.
oh but you know Wade made bball so fun tho bc he had a few nicknames

So it’s not about the actual allegations, it’s about how you committed them. Such an illogical thought thrown out way too often.

When it comes to who gets fired?

Absolutely.

What is most interesting is that LSU just hired an assistant connected with the exact same type violations while he was at Memphis State...

They had 5 level 1 violations in their NOA. They told the NCAA to kick rocks and two years later they still have had zero consequences. For those saying Woodward had no choice, that’s simply not true.

You don't know shite, Bud.

And that was from VCU which LSU supposedly know about already.

While it is seems likely he was paying off the fiancé of a VCU player, he made the actual payment while coach at LSU. And the fact he committed a violation to hide a previous violation is akin to running from the cops after being pulled over.

Put yourself in Woodward's shoes. You have these allegations that Wade brought over from his previous job on top of everything else. How can you NOT fire the dude?

Kansas is a beloved blue blood and we are not. That's the difference.

Kansas may eventually have to fire Self as well, depending on the severity of the punishment.

I do applaud Self and Kansas for flipping off the NCAA. Do I wish LSU would have continued to do so? Yes I do. I also understand firing Wade now with the football ramifications among other factors.

I thought the same.....but he wasn’t named in any of the allegations.....so he’s “clean”

Why did you leave out Georgetown? They just hired an assistant connected with the exact same type violations, too.

I don’t know how Kansas can operate with the negative cloud of allegations circling them.

Yep. Since the day he was hired he’s been working behind the scenes and looking for excuses to get his guy in. That goes for all 3 big sports. Hopefully he made the right decisions.

Yes, he’s just been waiting for a chance to bring in McMahon. The two go WAY back.

The NCAA is so mad at Kansas they're going to take it out on LSU.

No different then when Kansas tampered with the real Lester Earl (different guy, same douchebag), he turned on LSU, LSU got in trouble and Kansas got nothing.

“In my mind, it’s KU, Bill Self. Everyone else fall into line. Too (expletive) bad. That’s what’s right for Adidas basketball. And I know I’m right. The more you win, have lottery picks and you happy. That’s how it should work in my mind.”

When Self concurred, Gassanola even threw in a little cherry on the sundae that got Arizona in hot water when it got caught paying-for-play for Ayton’s services.

“I promise you I got this. I have never let you down. Except (Deandre). Lol. We will get it right.”

The use of “lol” in a transactional business text between two grown men shows just how flagrant the disrespect for the NCAA’s authority gets; Self and Gassanola couldn’t have flouted the law any worse if they conducted a drug deal in front of a police station.

But therein lies the rub in this story. That courtroom wasn’t some silly NCAA kangaroo court.

Subsequent testimony at the trial from Gassanola and others further implicates Self and the texts.
