Nobody forgot about him.
I would disagree to a degree here, some folks don't even mention him when running back depth is discussed. And look, I get it he did not play well last year, but again....he did pop a bit in '23 and had maybe the best run of fall camp against our defense this year so to summarily dismiss him as an option I think is a bit premature.....that's all.

Kaleb Jackson needs to run assigned holes with overwhelming blockers in front of him. He’s not good at zone reads. I think we could be more successful pulling lead blockers, using TEs and running a series of I formations. I think he’ll run with more confidence, more speed at the assigned gap and he’ll that much harder to tackle.
We tried that last year when we were dead set on running power/counter. He kept slamming into the lead blocker’s back. The RB still needs patience and vision in gap schemes.
You can line up in I-formation and run iso I guess, but that can’t really be the core of your running game in a modern spread offense. The power running game isn’t just about getting downhill and running through everyone.. it’s about letting the blocks develop and then exploding through the hole.
That said, Jackson does look a touch quicker than last year. He’s also looked good on passing plays (both in protection and as an outlet for Nuss) as others have mentioned.

He'd be perfect as a redzone back and we need help in that area. It just hasn't worked out yet.
Not sure about that. He has poor vision. That’s his worst trait. Creases get small near the goal line.

He looks noticeably faster catching the ball than he does running it. He just looks so slow and unsure when running the ball and gets tackled surprisingly easily.
But I think part of the issue is there isn't much of a whole running and his vision doesn't seem to be too good. With catching the ball, there is some space to operate and he can build up a little steam without having to think too much. He looked good though catching it and running after the catch.

No offense to JJ but he's not a true RB.
He looks good to me and I think he will be good. He just needs more reps at the position to get experience.

From Kelly's comments, they are still not confident in Berry to handle all the responsibilities in the passing game
If Durham is limited, look for Jackson and Johnson to get most of the work and they will likely sprinkle in Zavion Thomas and even Barrion Brown got in the mix against SLU

At this point, I'll take a RB that follows play design.

You sure are consistently negative. Try some meditation or taking a walk outside.

Been brought up many times, he is too slow to run out of the shotgun. He needs to be closer to the line.
I think, maybe, we see Nuss under center some this weekend.

You get KJ out in the open field with his size and speed he can bull his way down field. He will be gone after this year.

If nothing more, use his big body for an additional blocker and hopefully our WR's can get separation.

I don't think he's even averaging 2 yards a carry this year. He wasn't good last year and he definitely doesn't look good this year. Not sure what games you are watching. RBs need dire help right now. No offense to JJ but he's not a true RB.
What were you watching Satrurday? You can spout off about the opponent but his comments are spot on. Kaleb had a solid game. I like getting the ball to him in space. And Juan looked great running the ball Saturday. Let's see if he continues building on that.

With our offense and the way we block you need shifty, water bug types to play RB. Even Durham, who has speed but is a one cut guy can’t do anything right now. Jackson is talented he’s just in the wrong system.

Kaleb Jackson has all the tools needed to be a devestating running back. I'm thinking this game may be his time to shine.
LSU could be on the verge of shutting down all the negatigers and their doom and gloom. Nuss appears to have recovered from his nagging injury. If only the OL can give Nuss time he'll zip that ball good. LSU got da horses, receivers, the QB, the Defense, Special Teams, all we need is that OL to deliver. I believe they will.
We very well could be looking at LSU's most productive game. I hope so.

We need a hammer on the team. No bullshite, just hit the hole and always fall forward for at least 3 yards.
I was watching Miami's RBs the other day against UF. Those dudes were consistently getting tough yards, we desperately need a dude to do that.

How about KJ as a FB/pass catcher on certain sets?
