I was thinking maybe LB. He seems to have the size and quickness to play the position.
I do still have some hope he shows his true running ability next season.

Unless he somehow is able to cut on runs which I have yet to see, he will never be a quality back. His vision of the LOS is poor also...basically all he brings to the table is a bull type runner with speed once he gets going. The problem is unless he has a hole right in front of him, he isn't going to get that momentum necessary to utilize that.

if he returns it has to mean he's dedicated himself to doing what it takes to become successufl, and i welcome him back.

He only played 11 or 12 games of varsity, and only 1 or 2 his senior year, in high school. Spot duty last year in specific situations let him show promise. I think he regressed a bit this year due to what he was asked to do with so little on the field time.

Most great comeback stories are due to a setback to overcome. Let’s hope this was his and he finds it and we have a dominant backfield.

BK did mention him having a soccer background. Football has been a tougher transition at the next level so he needed more time to settle down.

Kaleb only did two sports in HS. Football and Track, not sure where this info is coming from. There’s a chance you misheard Kelly

2.9 ypc across 2 seasons. Every opportunity has been telegraphed, I don’t think they send him out there if he’s not getting the ball. Would love to see the snaps to touches ratio.

Golden opportunity with Josh Williams finishing up, I hope he makes the most of it. Seems like cutting weight would be a good start.

From in stadium and tv viewing it really looks like he lacks vision. I could be wrong as I don't have the all 22 film on any games but I was expecting a decent season from him and both Williams and Durham were better backs this season.

Unlikely, if LSU takes the same approach to the running game. Jackson is more of a "Les Miles" one-cut, downhill runner. If you are going to ask him to take read handoffs with edge players crashing in with no concern the QB might keep then he's going to struggle.

I feel like Jackson is just more of a downhill I formation type of back. LSU needs to add some I form to their packages with a fullback type leading. It’s not something you are going to do a ton of but it certainly helps to have it in the toolbox.

You don't really need a fullback. You can run powers and counters out of the shotgun. One play I really wanted to see Jackson run was the power out of the pistol. For example, that was the first play LSU ran vs. Alabama and Durham broke it for a 45 yard run. That's a downhill, see the hole and go play. Not a take the ball from a standstill and try to find the hole in front of you.

needs to drop about 10 - 15 lbs. Work on his quickness and vision.
we have that kind of back in durham. Hot take, but he should gain weight and bulldoze everybody like he's built to do.

I expected more from him, and am also surprised he is not already in the portal.

I believe so. I think LSU is putting a heavy emphasis on run blocking. Curne will start as a freshman next year. He's strong and athletic. They are moving Chestwr to guard. Two damn big for center and can not be stout and square up with NTs. I think we get the Virginia Tech center and he is our starter. Weston Davis on the outside with Tyree Adams. That's a more physically strong unit than the one we has this year. Now we could get a starting tackle out the portal, but IDK.

I was dumb enough to think he was like Cecil after a few plays last year
