Actually they were saying they didnt have a relative involved.
They were simply clarifying in their dialect their relative (who is not kyren) or anyone they know for that matter were not involved.

If you can blame the deceased for being supposedly under the influence, why can't you also assume Lacy was under the influence? Maybe that's why he didn't stay at the scene?
