State Police did have a press release after the crash. It detailed the crash and described the vehicle actions that caused the crash. They had not identified Lacy yet.
Mr. Hall died in a New Orleans hospital after the crash. Evidently it took time for the investigation to determine who the Charger belonged to and who was driving it. Once it was a fatality, everything got fast tracked and LSP Detectives joined the investigation.
Press release 12/20/24
Lafourche Parish – On December 17, 2024, shortly before 12:00 p.m., Troop C was notified of a two-vehicle serious injury crash on Louisiana Highway 20 near Perez Lane. The crash ultimately claimed the life of 78-year-old Herman Hall of Thibodaux.
The preliminary investigation revealed that a vehicle traveling south on LA Hwy 20 entered the northbound lane in an attempt to overtake other vehicles while in a marked No Passing Zone. At the same time, a northbound vehicle came to a stop to avoid a collision with the passing vehicle. A 2017 Kia Cadenza, also traveling north, swerved left to avoid the stopped vehicle but crossed the centerline and collided head-on with a southbound 2017 Kia Sorento.
The drivers of the Cadenza and Sorento, along with Hall, the front passenger in the Sorento, were properly restrained, sustained moderate injuries, and were transported to an out-of-area hospital for treatment. Troop C was later notified that Hall succumbed to his injuries on December 17, 2024. This crash remains under investigation, and Troopers are working to gather more information about the passing vehicle and its driver.

Also - the donut shop would have been closed at the time of the accident so there was zero reason for him to be going there.
Mmm, no. That donut shop is open well before and after 10 am, seven days a week. (The donut shop was definitely not Lacy’s destination, though.)

He had all the opportunities given to him because of his athletic ability and still messed it up. He is a POS.

The drunk driver who cant think ended his own life. Hes just looking for someone to blame it on and a payday.
Assuming that the Marine is the one you’re referring to as “the drunk driver”… If you were literate, you’d know that the Marine wasn’t the one who swerved his car and collided with another car. The Marine’s car was hit by the car that swerved into the middle of the road.

It was reported but lacy was never mentioned as the suspect.

The dead Marine, Mr Hall was a passenger not a driver.
The drivers of the Cadenza and Sorento, along with Hall, the front passenger in the Sorento, were properly restrained

The law clearly states that 1. Vehicular homicide A. Vehicular homicide is the killing of a human being caused proximately or caused directly by an offender engaged in the operation of, or in actual physical control of, any motor vehicle
…, aircraft, watercraft, or other means of conveyance, whether or not the offender had the intent to cause death or great bodily harm, whenever any of the following conditions exists and such condition was a contributing factor to the killing:
(1) The operator is impaired by alcoholic beverages as determined by chemical tests administered under the provisions of R.S. 32:662.
(2) The operator's blood alcohol concentration is 0.08 percent or more by weight based upon grams of alcohol per one hundred cubic centimeters of blood.
(3)(a) The operator is impaired by any other drug, combination of drugs, or combination of alcohol and drugs.
(b) As used in this Section, the term "drug" means any substance or combination of substances that, when taken into the human body, can impair the ability of the person to operate a vehicle safely.
(4) The operator is impaired by alcoholic beverages.
(5) The operator's blood has any detectable amount of any controlled dangerous substance listed in Schedule I, II, III, or IV as set forth in R.S. 40:964, or a metabolite of such controlled dangerous substance, that has not been medically ordered or prescribed for the individual.
There, I finished the statute for you. This is why Lacy is deservedly being charged with negligent homicide, not vehicular homicide. Two different crimes that everyone in this thread seems to be mixing up.

video or pictures of Lacy's car
Last article I read was WAFB. I think it was there that stated they had video from businesses.

Remember Dante Stallworth from the Saints? Or Dante Stallpepper as Buddy D used to call him. He ran over a pedestrian while driving drunk. He got a slap on the wrist in criminal court, reached a financial settlement with the family and went back to playing football.
He didn’t flee the scene unlike lacy and the pedestrian walked out into traffic. Pretty sure stallworth did time anyway. He was given a pass by the league / a second chance due to the circumstances. I think he was driving normally albeit hungover And hit someone who waltz into traffic. Because his bac was over the legal limit he was charged . He stayed on the scene and called 911. He didn’t flee and then declare for the draft 48 hours after causing someone’s death like nothing happened.

Damn, the agent couldn’t even throw in a RIP for the victim? That’s fricked

I’d assume witnesses gave description of Lacy’s car and local video from couple businesses then state police went to their cameras located on roads close to hwy 20 to see what they could find.
