so obviously the team was told Burrow is the guy for now (McMillan leaves) and that Miles is the guy for the future (Narcisse leaves)

Not surprised or upset by any of this.
This is the nature of college football now

Is it realistic to think he’ll be a starter for another team joining this late in camp?

The way this is going, you all know good and damned well that at some point early in the season, either Burrow or Brennan will break a leg, rip apart a knee, tear a hammy, crush a shoulder, step on their dick, or hurt something else that will make this a 1 QB show.

no doubt. but some of the posters on here have it perfectly planned out.

I get this one.

Narcisse, you fricking idiot. You have 4 years of eligibility. You have guaranteed playing time this year in special packages. Sound like any one?

McMillan leaving means Brennan is not taking a redshirt year. You were about to be the only QB with playing time and 4 years of eligibility. So misguided.

It seems pretty obvious that they knew Burrow had the job. I don't blame them.

At least we know for sure now Burrow is our guy?

Well, at least Burrow and Brennan get a lot more reps now.

This will be extremely beneficial......
Of course, the downside is both of these guys HAVE to remain healthy.... and ideally Brennan plays in 4 games only.

I wish Justin the best, and I think it's great that he has put himself in a position to possibly start for a smaller school now. Buuut Les and Cam only offered him because they thought it would get them Damarkus Lodge.

My guess is he'll end up at an FCS school in the Southland Conference. He'll be starting

The most interesting thing about that is the fact that he thanked Les and Cam but made no mention of the current coaches.

stop the negativity ...
that's who recruited him...it is logical

it is not a celebrity show where these kids go down the list.

He’s such a passive aggressive bitch with the big shoutout to Les Miles and Cam Cameron he’s annoyed me just as much this entire offseason as Brandon Harris did when he followed a ton of coaches on twitter because he was mad, good riddance to a dude who isn’t talented at all but has made a spectacle out of himself every chance he’s gotten this offseason because he had one mediocre spring game

Or is it possible that O isn't good at handling personnel, per many many events in his career?

What if he did outright pick Burrow from the start and lied to the press and fans? What if he told McMillan he had a chance when he never really did? What if he was harder on one QB and not the others? What if Brennan is getting protected?

The lack of O and E in this looks like something else happened, and it maybe isn't so clean. And with O's history, you can't automatically assume that 1) He did the correct thing or 2) These players just now found out that they'll never play and everything had been honestly communicated before that point.

I'm also not saying O is definitely in the wrong, but automatically assuming that he has no fault is pretty short-sighted. But that's par for the course. O can do no wrong.
