If you watched the whole thing, you are a glutton for punishment. I couldn't make it past halftime.

No PG = we stink.
Mid tier talent and mid tier coach.. what results do we expect?
Carlos nonexistent
Mwani invisible for 3 years
Baker with white mans disease
Wright a non alpha
Ward/reed good not great
Mike Williams in over his head
Hannibal turnover machine seems a better fit as a college RB
And dean?? Cmon. He could t start for Liberty high today

Who is my guy?? McMahon has his work cut out for him. Private First Class Wade left his players, the program and LSU in a bad spot. LSU had no choice but to fire the idiot that hid behind his lawyers, gut the roster and start over.

The players are generally outmatched talent-wise and can barely dribble with confidence. And I say players instead of team because they don’t look like a ‘team’ in any sense of the word - just a bunch of 5th year seniors pressing, trying to stand out individually for a shot at playing overseas

it’s easier than ever to rebuild a roster in the NIL era. Stop with this false narrative. Look at what Mizzou did. I think McMahon was in way over his head but he’s building a pretty decent class for next season. If next season is a failure (if he makes it), then it’s time to say goodbye.

For the 2nd straight year we have nobody that can lead the team aka a solid PG.
Williams isn't ready to run a team, but I do like some of what he does. He just can't shoot.
Hannibal is a wreaking ball. He plays hard but is careless with the ball and can't shoot at all.
Stewart I'm not sure what to think. He was ball dominate previously and it seems we are trying to make him into a catch and shoot guy. That hasn't been good.
Wright is being asked to be the Alpha. He has been pretty bad to start the season. His shot is OFF. He plays hard, I just think he's being asked to do more than he's capable.

The only player that I've seen that looks improved is Reed. He reminds me of KJ last year, the only player who looks SEC level.
Baker is either lights out or terrible. Seems when he's matched against someone his size, he melts.
Ward has potential, but is basically a spot up shooter (one of the few who looks like he can shoot).
Wilkinson is a 8-9 option at best.
I like what I've seen with Collins but he can't seem to be healthy.
Fountain is what he is.

This team has mid to lower SEC talent. But worse, CMM doesn't seem to scheme to any of their strengths.
Last night is an example. Your going to have bad shooting nights (especially with mediocre shooters), but you have to do other things. Last night Baker should have attacked the cuse big man all night (which he kind of did) and dished to Reed who cuse couldn't handle. Especially in the first half. But no, Baker kept forcing it or throwing it out for brick after brick or shooting bricks himself.

Gonna be a long season if they don't figure something out quickly. Cook would help, but he's not a savior. Only difference with Cook is he can score.

That decent class is literally 2 players. Top 100 players, no doubt, but we’ve seen this before with Ward and Reed. Yet, the team still looks bad. Given the current make up of the roster and the nature of CBB, he’s going to have to replace FAR more than just two players.

That will likely be through the portal. But does anyone have a lot of confidence there? This season he was essentially left only with guys who had Louisiana ties. Another bad season and even those guys likely won’t come in. Plus, in an age where transferring has never been more frequent, he has his highest ranked recruit (Chest) just sitting on the bench in warmups taking a redshirt.

This team and program isn’t good enough to leave a potential option off the floor. One, where the redshirt will be useless if Chest transfers. You get zero benefit of his “developmental” year.

I want McMahon to succeed. I really, really do. But there are simply no signs whatsoever right now of that occurring other than just blind optimism. With last night’s loss he now moves to 5-21 vs power conference opponents (thank God for Wake Forest!). And that’s in addition to grinding out most wins against mid-major opponents.

They had an incredible 1st half of defense and rebounding but you can’t get 13 offensive rebounds and only get 4 points from that. And you can’t shoot 2/22 from three. Coaching got nothing yo do with that. If they just shoot 30% from 3 they have a hood lead at halftime. Biggest issue is they don’t have an SEC caliber PG. Williams is a 2 trying to play point . Backup is a turnover machine and they had Wright running point at end of game. Until he gets Cook this team will struggle until he gets that #4 ranked PG hopefully next year. But shooting 3’s was biggest issue last night. That and Baker disappeared.

You’re preaching to the choir man. He has a LOT of work to do, 100% agree and it looks pretty dire right now.

Great analysis and spot on. Reed could be so much better. No one was able to contain him at the Charleston classic. He just needs to play a little bit more under control. The talent is there.

Agreed Alt.
I have tried to stay optimistic and hope CMM can turn it around, but not sure I see that happening.

We will win some games because no way we can shoot this terrible night in and night out.
But, this team has the exact same problem as last year. NO PG. And if the only answer was Cook, then that is indeed a bad coaching decision.

Hopefully leading up to SEC some of these vets like Wright and Stewart will get comfortable and start producing. And maybe by some miracle the NCAA will look at this team and say what the hell let Cook go play.

I have never seen a team catch the ball standing out of bounds as often as this team does. I think its like 4 games in a row. Its embarrassing, they don't even function like a uniformed team. I honestly don't remember a coach in the SEC (In my lifetime) producing a worse product on the court, Tony Barbee maybe??. Especially since he has been okay at recruiting

I’m not defending McMahon in any way. I’m just tired of idiots believing Wade was a good coach and isn’t directly responsible for the predicament he put LSU in.

We got beat down low. Had way too many turnovers. It was disappointing but I’ll be in the PMAC Fri to support my Tigers.

It is idiotic comments like this that keeps CWW in the discussion. While he was the coach, we had one of the best five year runs in program history. His program building acumen is evidenced by what is happening at McNeese right now.

I really question whether some of you actually watch the game. One guy on here says they sucked at rebounding when all the announcers were talking about in first half was how LSU was dominating the offensive boards. They just couldn’t hit a three when it was kicked back out.

We were out rebounded in every category last night.

I do think Syracuse had their best Offensive rebounding performances of the season.
